  1. The article mentions 20 million euros and 1.2 million, 1 will be the fee the other is anybodies guess, it looks too low for it to be wages.
  2. Other people see what the club do well, they have a balanced view, I can't remember you having anything good to say about anything which has happened over the last 11 months. Everything that happens is crap, and you do nothing but snipe at those running the club. You are so biased against Mort and Ashley that it's beyond what would normally be classed as being rational. I wonder why?
  3. Pointless enough to get mentions on other forums.
  4. How old are you again? That sort of stuff went on in the infants school, most people had grown out of it by the time the short trousers were consigned to the bin.
  5. You were asked "Bad planning then by someone. Who would you blame? Souness? Shepherd? The Halls?" You replied, "Souness. As said elsewhere in the thread ....... made an arse of his transfer dealings so the club had to bail him out, the alternative was a certain relegation fight." That was your answer to a specific question to you, not anybody else. I haven't seen anybody say what you've suggested that they have said earlier. In the same reply you said Owen was the same player that Mort was having a go at, I haven't seen anybody else say Mort had a go at Owen, maybe I've missed something.
  6. If you answer the questions which I asked which you responded to with questions instead of answers, I might consider answering what you've asked since.
  7. You're claiming Souness made an arse of his transfer dealings based on the opinion of somebody else. I'm sure Souness did give a list of players to Shepherd, I have no idea if Owen was on that list or not and where he was on the list, if he was on it. Souness said all along that he'd passed the list of players over and nobody within the club denied that this was the case. How did Souness make an arse of his transfer dealings if he did what he was supposed to have done? I'll repeat, where has Mort had a go at Owen? I really haven't seen this but would like to see it so that I can comment on it.
  8. You're basing your argument that Souness "made an arse of his transfer dealings so the club had to bail him out" on the opinion of another poster. What about Mort having a go at Owen, I can't wait to see the link because I haven't seen it.
  9. How could Souness make an arse of the transfer dealings when he came up with a list of players? I'm just wondering where he went wrong in this respect. Where has Mort had a go at Owen?
  10. I noticed a suspicious photo in the mackem match report.
  11. I wasn't doubting you, do those words look softer than his original comments? I can't remember exactly what he said.
  12. I think this being a one-off made it much better than it would be if it was every game, we'd soon get sick and take it for granted, it reminded me of the Newcastle/Liverpool Cup final for build up to the game.
  13. Keegan is responsible for bringing players in from the Premiership, the others are scouring everywhere else and will give recommendations to Keegan and he'll look at those players and make the final decision. I'd be surprised if we don't bring players in from the lower leagues or abroad because we seem to have more people looking away from the Premiership than at it.
  14. League starts is usually a good indication and it's easy to see how they've done over a longer period of games, I would have thought fit players are more likely to play in the league than the cup. You could miss almost half of the season and still play every game in the FA Cup.
  15. I don't know where you got your figures from but I've just checked his league record for Liverpool and it's: 1996-97, 1 league start in his break through season, nowt to do with injuries. 1997-98, 34 league starts. 1998 - 99, 30 league starts. 1999-00, 22 league starts. 2000-01, 20 league starts. 2001-02, 25 league starts. 2002-03, 32 league starts. 2003-04, 29 league starts. 2004-05, 29 league starts. What has Shearer got to do with it? Edit. Owen started 221 league games Shearer started 233 during the same period, Owens record got worse Shearers didn't, Shearer managed 31 during his last season which was better than his average.
  16. I missed that, I remember him saying the same early on after his return.
  17. We've changed since he made those comments, we're playing much better and we're probably after fewer players than we were a couple of months ago, I think it will now be easier for players to settle in as we're no longer struggling.
  18. I'd also go along with that, I wouldn't mind seeing a kid as cover, somebody to develop but not under pressure to walk straight into the team but happy to get a few games to learn and gain experience. The thing is, we've got more bodies scouting than I can ever remember so we shouldn't be as limited for targets or limited to players from a small area. Edit. I'm not referring to pygmies.
  19. I'll go along with that.
  20. I'd rather we put most of our effort into areas away from the defence, the defence is good enough so I wouldn't be bothered if we paid less attention to defence than anywhere else. We do need cover for enrique but other areas being strengthened will do more for the team, I wouldn't mind seeing Edgar being used as cover for Enrique.
  21. I've never denied what Shepherd did well, I also see his faults, unlike you. I can understand why you think my response was unsuitable, it doesn't suit your agenda.
  22. I think the fitness record of Owen naturally swung it in his favour.
