  1. ASM on the bench is the reason why we can start Wilson and Isak.
  2. Even if 95% of the arsenal players are confident, that 5% is killer. When they walk out in SJP and have flashbacks to last year and the thoughts of "can I really be arsed with this?", it will have some effect on their game. Let's remember, no Arsenal player/fan has any remaining hope that they are going to win the league. They are effectively on the beach and patting each other on the back for having an otherwise good season. From a tactical standpoint, our main issue is that ball through the middle that Liverpool exploited, if we can defend in those moments, we are good to go. Saka always scares me, mind.
  3. I'm worried about losing 3rd.
  4. I think we will see loads of these types of deals. We want a catalogue of good young players, who could potentially step up to the first team.
  5. Looks like he has some technical ability.
  6. Brentford don't really look like scoring.
  7. God's of football please smile on us.
  8. I'm telling you now, I'd give my left bollock for a draw here. I've had the snip anyway so....
  9. Basically called Sam Allardyce ridiculous.
  10. Brighton are so likeable Reckon they are in for a cracking summer... once they have received their Mac Allister and Caicedo money.
  11. The more I think about it....... Pope Trippier Schar Botman Burn Bruno Willock Joelinton Murphy Isak Wilson The main argument I've seen against this, is the idea that we won't have anyone to impact things from the bench but we may have; Longstaff (frees up Joelinton or Willock), ASM, Gordon and Miggy. We could quite easily switch to something like this in the second half if we are chasing things: Bruno Longstaff Miggy Isak Joelinton Wilson
  12. Just so I've got this correct: Liverpool play Brentford who've been excellent throughout the season, sit in the top half and have one of the best strikers in the league..... easy win for Liverpool. Next week we play Leicester, who are a complete mess and we've beaten twice already this season.... tricky game, could go either way.
  13. The way he answered the Allardyce question was pure class.
  14. I said before the January window that Bruno will be signing a new deal before the end of the season.... that was around the time when a few bed wetters were packing his bags for Madrid. Bruno will be the highest earner, no player we sign will get a higher wage than him and rightly so. Before next season ends, Isak will also have an extension/pay rise. Protect your assets.
  15. Alot of the goals we have conceded have been against the run of play/counter attack goals or consolations. Its not ideal but its not the same being genuinely poor. Arsenal conceded 3 at home to Southampton, just for context. City conceded at Fulham, at the weekend.
  16. West Ham away is not the game they need either. As shocking as West Ham have been this year, they will be well up for a visit from Man United.
  17. Man United are just suffering massively from the injuries to Varane and Martinez, also Rashford not scoring at the same rate doesn't help. I actually thought their defence did well to cope with Brighton given the changes. It can't be underestimated how much Varane and Martinez help Man United retain possession for longer, as well as being obviously good defenders.
  18. Everything about signing Neymar seems a bad idea: Too old Astronomical wages Baggage/entourage Big time Charlie attitude Won't want to press Won't want to buy in Goes against the no dick heads policy Despite all that.... fuck yeah.
  19. It's my natural reaction to ignore a thread if I'm finding it's contents unpleasant, that's why I'm never in the Saudi human right thread. The fact that I couldn't find a post by me in 28 pages tells it's own story.
  20. Hands up who thought (without looking) that Ugarte was black and likely from an african country?
  21. I believe fitness is the answer we were all looking for. Under Steve Bruce our squad was chronically unfit, it took Howe two months to rectify that. Add in a few basic tactics, a couple of brilliant signings and we were good to go. A few on those mentioned the "eye test" being good. I.e, it looked as though they had improved, even if results hadn't. Well done those people.
  22. This is my first post after page 560, admittedly 28 pages down the line. I think I can hold my head up high with this one.
