When it comes to contract agreements, surely there are different stages of agreement? For example, Ekitike might be fine with 5 years, so he's agreed to that, he might also be fine with the wages offer but there may be some wrangling with the bonuses or with agent compensation etc. It can take time to sort out the fine details and there's no real rush, if we are honest

Eriksen would be a dream signing. He and Bruno would give us outrageous amounts of quality in the middle.

According to that scout report that was knocking about, the whole idea with this kid is that it's assume he will eventually be an out and out CF but the smart thing to do is let him ply his trade on the wing where he is naturally competent. He's 20 years old and the chances are that he will blow hot and cold. Eddie will want to use him as an exciting substitute for most of the first season but with injuries and hopefully two Cup runs, he should get a go up front too. There's also the option that we might play 352 at times and he gets some time up front with Wilson, which would be a quality education for him.

He certainly won't start the season for us, if all goes to plan. Eddie will want to ease him in, as much as possible.

Unless we sell Murphy and Almiron, replacing them both, I wouldn't entertain selling Maxi. Our flanks are arguably our weakest areas, we need more quality, not less.
