It won't happen this late on but I'm surprised we haven't seen this: Pope Schar Botman Burn Trippier Targett Bruno Willock Joelinton Isak Wilson This would allow us to play Isak and Wilson as a pair, would give us more defensive solidity, whilst also providing us width. It's more "negative" because we have one less attacker on the pitch but with Isak and Wilson, I'd wager we would find the net.

I'll be shocked if our game plan isn't to smash them out of the traps. We try and do that every time. He'll probably have a "second phase" plan.

He's a big lad too. Certainly won't be knocked off the ball easy.

Quality is certainly not the issue with Tierney like. I can understand the injury arguement but not the talent one.

Not being a doctor, I'm not sure how stuff works, if the injuries aren't in the same place, is it just bad luck Does a player become more susceptible to injuries? I'm assuming we pay the medical department to work this stuff out. They are more qualified than us.

If we sign Tierney, Targett will want out. He might need convinced to stay.

It's important to remember that when playing, Tierney is probably top 3 right backs in the league. He's absolutely class at both ends. Of course his injury record is a concern but surely out medical department will do a risk assessment.

Our best scenario is 0-0 at half time and we can bring on Wilson to win the game. If this is an open game, which I think it will be, we are in big trouble.

If us and Liverpool want Maddison, for arguement sake, and we have CL football, do you seriously think he's choosing us over Liverpool? Funny that "CL football" arguement only ever works against us. Even if its Chelsea we might not be able to compete with wages. Much more comes into it than CL football.

If we do it, i reckon a point against Brighton and Chelsea and win against Leicester.

Well yes, but we are clearly after a certain level of player anyway. I don't see Europa League curtailing that by a great amount and our targets won't change.

I find the whole "depends if we get in the CL" thing complete bollocks. We signed Isak when finished 11th and Bruno when we were looking like going down. It might mean we sign fewer players but we were interested in Maddison etc in the previous summer. I don't think we had any intention of moving for players prior to the season finishing anyway but I'd bet we have a list of targets ready to go.

False positions don't exist 36 games into a season. There are fine margins that could swing a point or two either way, I'll give you that. They are a good side, we are a better side and I'm not even confident of us winning.
