I think that's exactly what we are doing. We aren't in the business of buying cheap foreign risks with the view of selling them for a profit. We leave that to Brighton/Bournemouth. Eddie Howe wants as sure a thing as possible and I don't blame him, it's his neck on the line if we get things wrong. For every Dean Huijsen there's a "bargain" who didn't make it and we can't afford too many players to fail here because the expectations are now through the roof.

Yes, I watch every press conference. I think you are wrong. Is that a hard concept to grasp? I also don't need laughing emojis or to claim anything on your judgement. It's opinions. I think Luke Edwards is a cunt. I don't think Eddie Howe likes him at all. We disagree, we don't need to be cunts about it?

Not counting penalties is the dumbest shit on the planet. Wonder what Brighton were doing giving such a shit player penalty duties.
-
Also, isn't the whole point that we sign someone like Joao Pedro, who's 23, and take his game to the next level? Theres every chance we will add 20m to his value in 12 months under Eddie Howes tutelage.
-
What's elite? Isak, Bruno, Tonali, Gordon, Trippier, Botman? At the very least Tonali and Isak were incredibly marquee signings, even if there was an element of risk attached. We afforded them, although those transfers are very difficult to do, there's nothing stopping us pulling one out again. The only difference now is that we are having to be a little more cautious towards the PSR ramifications.

And miss out the guesswork and whinging? Come on, get in the transfer window spirit For once, i will cut some slack because we havent signed anyone im forever and people are desperate for that hit.
-
I think if we sign him, it will be something like 52m + 10 based on certain criteria. Im more than happy for the club to pay big bucks if a player achieves things at the club; trophies, CL qualification, appearances, goals etc. That seems to be the smart way to go and it's a fair bet from Brighton point of view too.
-
Or people have different opinions and perceptions. And let's be honest here, you are the one who thinks it's possible that Luke Edwards, our most hated journalists, is likable. I don't.
-
Yeah whenever I watch Eddie looks like he hates Edwards and is ready for some smart arse question. He called him boring a couple of months back.
-
Not how PSR works. Makes zero odds when we get the cash. Unless it's not guaranteed money, in which case it's not a good deal in the first place.
-
Have that up ya Rio ya duck billed cunt.
-
That's the only bit that matters.
-
Yeah that's what I meant. A front 3 of Gordon/Isak/JP would be very good, then you've got options in the absence of any. Obviously I'd prefer JP + a right winger.
-
I do wonder whether Eddie is thinking about taking a risk and bringing him in to start at RW. A risk in terms of JP not being used to that position, rather than him not being quality in general.
-
Reckon Edwards was told they were going for an Italian international from Milan and guessed the wrong player and wrong team?
-
Reckon he's just cemented himself in the seniors. After the two contrasting performances, he should be starting for England.

It still seems to take an age for the ball to find the net. Like slow mo.
-
Mind, Sancho can fuck off. He's a complete dickhead.
-
Yep. It's absolute nonsense. We will do our due diligence on character, as far as we can. That's about it. Alot of the best footballers to have ever played the game have "dickhead" written all over them.

We won't get Guehi for 45m, not even in last year of his contract. However, any such PSR typed shenanigans could very well see us be prepared to over-pay, in order to shift a player like Targett, whereby we get the PSR benefit from the sale. So I'm agreeing with you but not with them figures. Maybe 50m one way and 8m the other. Which from a PSR point of view would still be excellent business.
-
Musgrove is absolutely sound man. I have no idea on the validity of him claim mind. Also Palace wanting Targett as part of a Guehi deal, what's next, they will only sell us Guehi if we allow Isaac Hayden to join them too?
-
Left back? He played left back at Chelsea and we signed him to play at left back? Hall was left out of the side because he wasn't yet doing to things Howe demanded of him. He said as much recently.

Genuinely excited about the potential of this. It will show incredible depth in that position when in pre season we have 2 quality goalkeepers sharing game time. I actually think it makes sense for Trafford to spend some time with Pope, so he can learn some of the things Pope is good at. It also puts Pope in a position where if he drops a clanger or two, we've got quality ready to step in.
