    Shola Ameobi

I meant for a target man he didnt really bully his marker, his first touch was the same old same old, and don't remember him holding up the ball and setting up an attack. It was obviously a good performance - as he scored all his chances but it's not a sign that he has suddenly turned a corner in his NUFC career. Like i say he took his eyes of the ball for the first goal it could of gone anywhere, and the third was a penalty. His 2nd goal was very good, the header and the way he lost his marker that was the only thing he did really well at tbh.

Apart from the goals i thought Ameobi was poor. I'm delighted he got his hat-trick but some of you guys saying it was a 9 or 10 out of 10 performance i mean com'mon :/ He took his eyes off the ball completely for the first goal and the third was a penalty.
  3. I thought at Everton the chairman handles all of the numbers in regards to their transfer activity. I would hardly call Moyes dense either, i can't actually think of a terrible signing he has made other than van der Meyde.
  4. Droopy is a right b******. Why did the public need to know any of that? basically the same article from sky http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_5490993,00.html He is just talking up the player. Like Keegan did with Jonas and Colo last season.
  5. Neither he or Duff will be here. It's alright though, you only need one winger in this league - so long as the wage bill's nice and toight. If losing Duff and gaining 8 million help keeps the club running, i am all for it. We needed to trim the wage bill and adapt to the Championship surroundings. And keep the club running? Please, will someone summarise for me... say we head into the season with this exact wage budget. What exactly happens? Genuine question. Do we go out of business or something? You mean if we have a Premier League type expenditure with a Championship sized revenue coming in?

  7. Why does a transfer involving Everton and Newcastle involve the Southern press in regards to fees? Why do you always go looking for an argument? The media have a lot of influence over a players value. He's seen as comedy Geordie defender, who looks like going for 6m when it should be double in the current market. I'm not looking for anything. I don't agree with what you say, or buy into the countless conspiracy theories about the press hating our club more than every other club out there. Do the press really put a valuation on a player which makes the entire football world sit up and listen? No. David Moyes would have his own valuation of what he is worth without looking at The Sun's fantasy football squad list. Also Taylor is actually rated throughout the country.

  9. If we could get Colo off the wage bill and get a solid defender in then that would be good business. Smith is irreplaceable though, unless you're willing to spend millions, which we aren't in the position to do. And clubs like Forest have struggled getting defenders in, so maybe its best to stick with Colo unless we have someone lined up. ireplaceable haha, just off 1 good game in over 2 years at the club he's on 4 million a year and we have plenty of cover in midfield also remember it could be either sell, or eventually go into administration I'm aware of the finances mate but he's one player i'd really hope to keep. In terms of the cover you mention, i'd rather let Barton, Nolan and Butt go. Are you always wrong?
  10. He is the only player i like.. i presume this is their solution to Lescott leaving.

  12. Probably because he has an ego the size of a house and thinks we'll all love him after the team rally around and win 6 games on the trot. The same patronising logic that Ashley & Llambias own in spades. We're thick and fickle Geordies, we'll love him the same as Shearer and Keegan in a little while. That'll be his take on it (and theirs). TBH he reminds me of an early version of Phil Brown, permatan, nose job, massive ego with little reason for it. When did Phil Brown take a team to a Champions League semi final? Phil Brown - journeyman football player and poor manager David O'Leary - Arsenal and Irish playing legend at the highest level and excellent track record and credentials in management. That's like comparing chalk with cheese. You really do have a man crush on O'Leary don't you bud? Phil Brown got Hull promoted and survived the first year in the Premier League beating Arsenal at the Emirates, us at SJP and a few more very impressive scalps along the way. Poor manager indeed.
  13. Ye we looked better when everything when through him away to Northern Ireland.
  14. if owen had been in contract, there would of been no-1 interested in him What a s**** statement that is, how exactly do you know that huh? I guess you have the phone numbers of every single manager out there and have personally asked them. Deary me. Think Man Ure would have paid £8mill for Owen? 8 million for a 30 year(?) old? Er no, that isn't exactly the same as no club would pay a transfer fee for him is it? A scenario no poster on here can prove. It's a speculative statement with no logic to it. Besides Man Utd are paying at least 3 million a year for Owen i would imagine. When they have good young players like Macheda pushing for starts.

  16. We need Jay Simpson playing tbh
  17. It's bollocks that as League 2 sides wage bill can only be 60% of their turnover and I reckon 5m is probably more than their turnover. Yet another well researched article by SSN. Would Svens salary come under the wage bill?
  18. If you believe that, how about you search for it and prove it? rather than suggest it is a rule which only applies to a few teams.
  19. Have the FA actually made a ruling on this? it doesnt even say that they even stepped in and changed the law in this occasion. The article just explains why he can play ffs.
  20. FFS he played a whole season at Millwall a season or two back and scored like 5 goals in 30 + games. Not to mention his 'prolific' stint with WBA
  21. I can only hope the Mail are as clueless as ever. Reading that it has just hit home how likely we are of having MA for at least another year. I had been annoyed at the lack of progress with the takeover bids and such but was always confident Ashley would fuck off sooner rather than later, now it feels like it's going to be another season of one fuck up after the next. Good times
