    Administration?

If the club defaulted on payments would the creditors enforce this administration? I have no idea how the process works admittedly.
  2. How the hell can you judge the quality of a player over the rest of his team mates by price you will get for them? Is Beye a terrible player because he may leave for as little as 500k? If Nolan goes for 2 million he is better footballer than Beye 4 times over? I judged the players on performances in which i saw many better players than Martins, not saying those 'better' players are good players, but the best of a bad lot.
  3. So you believe Martins wants to stay? That sentence is backwards. Most of the chances fell to Martins by the way .. Arsenal penalty .. taking it with his weaker foot! and Spurs especially, he is a woeful player. Or have you not seen those matches? I've seen the matches and if he's a woeful player, what does that make the rest of the squad? IMO, even if he's not that good, he's miles better than the vast majority of our playing staff and that will be backed up when the squad is sold off. If you can name me 6 players who will fetch a bigger fee you'll have a point. Your way of judging a player is the bigger the fee the better they must be? Well, Michael Owen went to Man Utd for nothing and i would certainly say that MO is a better striker than Martins, since he has a brain and had the best shots to goals ratio in PL last year. Beye is a better player too, S Taylor, Barton, Bassong and Enrique also, not as big a reputation obviously as Martins... I'm not even saying these are good players.. but merely making a case that these are better than an overrated headless chicken, who can't finish. Martins is being paid too much at this club, but that is the case with the vast majority of our squad including all those players (except Bassong) you mentioned there. Owen might have been a better striker but he scored no goals in three months while getting us relegated. how does that support your view? Michael Owen not scoring in 3 months doesn't have anything to do with 'my view' .. which was that Martins has been woeful and he missed the most chances in the close of last year. You did bring Michael Owen into this conversation with your endorsement of his brainy play and super goals per s*** ratio if you scroll back up and care to take a look. I did, when you said how could Martins be a woeful player when he will be the most costly from our team, which in itself is wrong.. I chose to not judge a player on price and more on performances and quality.. and listed 6 players who were better than Martins last year (as you asked). My original point was that Martins has been woeful for the majority of his career here and he did miss the most chances at the close of the season and highlighted 2 games in particular... never about Michael Owen.

  7. Cliche ridden. And where exactly did that cliche come from? Because as was pointed out even by managers who played him, he was a scorer of great goals and not a great goal scorer. He has a brilliant highlight reel but regularly failed to slot away the bread and butter chances that a striker needs to. Is this Oba only scores screamers stuff really still being peddled on here? Goodness me ... Good thing all our other strikers were so much smarter and intelligent and scored such a wonderous variety of goals eh? Martins has been our best striker since he joined this club. http://richclark.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/compare_the_meerkat.jpg Simples. He wasn't
  8. I would imagine most players are at breaking point, like the usually chilled Beye seems to want to destroy all in front of him.
  9. Ashley and co are the main cause, agreed. But just ask yourself - who else would employ Hughton - IN ANY manner, in the top 2 divisions apart from us ? Would the makems ? Would they hell. You are measured by who you employ. So that result is no surprise then. Jesus christ.. he was rated as a good coach at Spurs. Keegan wanted him here and as KK left - Hughton was the most senior coach so he took responsibility until JFK came as 'temporary manager', CH was employed to coach not manage. I'm sure you can see the difference between a coach and manager, how they could be good at one and completely fail at the other.
  10. I think you're scapegoating him there. Or maybe I'm pointing out he's a major part of the problem ? Major?? I would put Ashley, and every single player before him if i was listing the problems in order tbh.
  11. Yeh because he admits himself he is a manager doesn't he.
  12. 'With this squad we will win the league'
  13. Downing ruled out until December
  14. True. Obviously, I know absolutely nothing about the facts of the matter, but I find it very suspicious that Gerrard was not guilty of affray for hitting the guy but his mates were... His mates said they were guilty. Gerrard denied the charge. and that matters how ? Of course it matters. I have seen a lot of posts in this thread saying how is it even possible for his mates to be guilty and him getting away with it, well the facts are he was the only one who denied the affray charges. The rest were always going to be charged.

  16. How on earth are people comparing Gerrard with Barton, it's fucking daft, Barton has long, very long list of previous incidents. Barton has put out a cigar in a youth players eye! beat up his team mate at Man City training ground, been involved in actual fights in/out of clubs. Even looking at Barton's family, his brother has killed someone. Gerrard didn't even throw the first punch, and the story HAS been in the news for days and he has been getting criticism.
  17. All of his friends admitted the charge of affray except him btw.
  18. admitted to hitting him denied the affray charges.
  19. I`m not annoyed really anymore, we get Eto'o and Hleb + millions, i am the one who's laughing here. He was bound to leave sooner or later anyways, just sucks that it have to be the one player i really like Moratti>> Laporta Eto'o is going to be completely wasted in that Inter side, zero pace around him and the midfield supporting him is hardly the most creative, he really should of made a move to England or tried to stay in Spain.
  20. We do - mainly due to the fact there IS bias. I didn't realise this was a fact now.
  21. Huh? What do they prove by showing the punches.. why do they need to be shown. The Gerrard business is also a prominent story on every news/football website out there, and has been for days. However we do like to knock the 'bias' of the media now don't we.
  22. Bassong owes us.. can't remember what but he definetly owes us! That lad has a nerve coming here playing very well in our colours. What a massive prick he is.

    RIP sale thread.

Stop talking so much sense, you'll confuse people. A couple of points need to be made here. (1) A "certain type" of point-of-view is always easy to make out to be a "common sense" point of view, and therefore easy to support. These points of view usually include a rejection of anything outlandish or unusual. - The fact that something sounds 'common sense' DOES NOT MAKE IT TRUE!!! - The fact that this 'common sense' point of view also scorns other less 'common sense sounding' views, as paranoid STILL DOES NOT MAKE THEM TRUE. (2) A certain type of view expressed, usually one that refers to the 'excesses' that certain types of human being indulge in such as where they behave out of passion and anger rather than from cool business-like perspectives, are easy to "rubbish" as being paranoid, etc. These points of view are normally expressed because the person who expresses them has actually experienced human beings behaving TOTALLY IRRATIONALLY. People DO behave that way, you know. They really do!! - The fact that an expreesed view appears (to some) as 'excessive' or 'paranoid' DOES NOT MAKE IT UNTRUE!! So, remember, strange things (seemingly perverse / seemingly unlikely / seemingly impossible) CAN HAPPEN (and frequently do) in life. How about ignoring every single fact, every bit of common sense and the complicated sale procedure to make an absurd conspiracy theory based upon little to nothing.
  24. I don't see anything wrong with KD's post at all. I remember when one of the Everton fans on here said those players didn't want to go to Spurs, but Everton got duped on the fee so the players had no alternative but to join them. Then later apparently Evertons 2nd offer was accepted... so on an even playing field between the two clubs it was made out that said players will no doubt go to Everton ...which didn't happen.
