  1. I think he could be quality. One of the better ball-playing defenders we have. He's just a bit lightweight at times. Id stick with him as long as he keeps his head down and he shuts his mouth. Hes not gonna earn any points for patience from the fans if he's moaning about not playing to the press.
  2. marca.com in non-Borat speak: Alvaro will travel to England Wednesday to undertake a medical with Newcastle, after reacheing an agreement with the Valencian club for his transfer to the British club and after being assured of the completion of the Spanish club's requirements. Newcastle has promised to pay the transfer fee before the 31st of January. Levante had initially rejected Newcastle's offer because payment of the transfer had not been guaranteed within the required timeframe. Although the transfer fee has not been officially confirmed, it is believed to be more than 2 million euros, which sum can be used by Levante to pay off the majority of the money it owes to its employees. The exit of Alvaro follows that of his compatriot Savio Bortolini, frenchman Christian Riganó, lthe italians Marco Storari and Bruno Cirillo and Jose Emilio Viqueira, all of who have reached agreements with Levante to leave the club by either rescission of contract, termination of contract or transfer.
  3. as.com articles says brum and us have both had bids of 3 million euros on the table. Says that Levante is meeting with the player today and something should be resolved one way or the other today. Also, goes on to say that he has been one of there best players this year and the manager is reluctant to sell him without a replacement lined up. They seem to be in a financial mess and are exploring the possibility of selling other players instead.
  4. 2nd game in charge and the grumbling gets worse. Some people need to get a f****n grip. In KK I trust.
  5. Not ideal of course but I'll take it. People need to get some perspective...
  6. I think he is, and dont call me Shirley.
  7. Ruud is always trying to piss on our parade. I thoroughly dislike him.
  8. SoccerSucks is obviously just trying to push some buttons (and working). That or the author is completely insane. Either way the man is a complete and utter idiot. As for being embarrassed why should I be. As an American why should I have to answer for that raving lunatic? I shouldn't. At least no more than you should for any of the loonies on your side of the Atlantic.

  11. Drago story on marca.com The Sevilla defender Ivica Dragutinovic will play the next season in Newcastle's team after reaching an accord with the english outfit for less than 4 million euros. The departure of the Serbian has prompted Sevilla, which is led by Juande Ramos, to move to find a substitute. The Colombian Aquivaldo Mosquera, of the Mexican club Pachuca, has been chosen. He joins the Spanish team to replace "Drago" in central defense. He is 26, is 1.80 tall and plays well in the air. On top of that he is quick, plays the ball well for a central defender and has characteristics similar to Perea, his countrymen who plays for Atletico Madrid.

  14. Sorry, I type slow... From the Villareal website: Subject to tying up a few loose ends, Villareal FC and Newcastle FC have reached an accord for the transfer of the player José Enrique Sánchez Díaz. The 21 year-old left-sided defender had a successful spell for the Submarines - arriving from Valencia-, where he stood out as a footballer and showed that he was a great professional. As such, he won a place in the Spanish Under-20 and Under-21 sides, opening the door to his selection to the full national team in the future. Villareal ("the yellows") thank Jose Enrique for his participation with the club and wish him much luck in his football career.
  15. I speaky Spanish: From marca.com: Villareal and Newcastle have reached an accord for the transfer of Jose Enrique Sanchez to the english club for 6 years, informed sources within the club. Jose Enrique was in Teruel with his team ready to participate in a friendly against Zaragoza, but a short time before the beginning of the match he quickly switched his attention from his preparations with Villareal to push through his transfer to the english club. Villarreal announced that the 21 year old player subject to tying up some loose ends will join the english league team after a season at Villareal, after arriving from Valencia and having player for the Spanish Under 20 and Under 21 teams.
  16. marca.com is reporting that the transfer fee and personal terms have been agreed and the only thing holding the transfer up is the fact that Sevilla will not allow it to through until Drago's replacement has been signed. Hopefully this true and the Colombian defender you're talking about is the replacement.
