Howe is a good coach but a bad manager. He wasted crazy money and the team is not better than last year. He wanted overpriced PL players because he knows PL players. When a coach make the transfer market is always a disaster.
Our signings were almost certainly better when Eddie had greater control over transfers (the first two windows). I don't think you can blame Tonalis gambling addiction or Barnes' turf toe on Eddie either and I'm not sure where else the money has been wasted.

Last night showed what a good job this is doing for the Red Three, didn't it? Until this goes, we're going to be no more than a top 8 club who have the odd season pushing a few places higher.
It'll eventually hit Villa as well when they want to go to the next level but they're unable to.
It's fucking grim.
We're 2.5 seasons into the new ownership. We'll get there but it'll take time. It'll be two steps forward one step back, but we'll still overtime get there.

Michael Emenalo was linked before Ashworth - just noticed he's a director of the Saudi league
There was a bit of agro between him and our owners wasn't there? I'm sure there were claims he wasn't impressed with our owners and turned the job down, but then Ghodoussi came out saying he was never offered the job.

You're a Lucky Man having those contacts.
He'll definitely remember his time at Newcastle as Bitter Sweet.

He's got a bigger fee than half of our squad. Definitely rinse them for everything they have. I wonder how much we paid Brighton at the time.
It was rumoured to be £5m, plus obviously we had to wait six months gardening leave.

How are they making it out like this Diaz one is a bigger penalty shout?

Incredible that penalty wasn't given.

With what lineup?
Karius
Hall
Tonali
Parkinson
Plus all the other fit players who aren't playing?
Just to note, I wasn't being serious.

Really, we should be having special Sandro Tonali exhibition matches. Make him earn his money.

Can't play in pre-season but can train
He can play in friendlies. He was only banned from competitive matches.

I don't know if this is trying to distract fans about Ashworth leaving, or a clear indication that we're selling Trippier, but either way I am furious!

Looks like Minteh had a really good game for Feyenoord today.

I’ve been saying it since the summer window. It would have been ideal to sign a younger, wide forward type, who is also a genuine option as a striker. Closer to Isak than Gordon, for example.
Quite who this mythical, good value, low risk player is, I’m not quite sure But he would have come in very useful this season with the injuries to our strikers and wide men.
Howe does supposedly favour a bit of positional versatility when it comes to signings. So it would make sense. I’m sure that gets reported and I’ve not made that up!
Last summer Joao Pedro would have been the obvious option. That ship has sailed now of course, but he would have been perfect.

Interesting that he's been training with City's first team this season. Could see him getting some minutes off the bench at the backend of the season
I wouldn't believe anything in that video. He states that Lewis Hall has been one of our stand out performers this season.

Interesting that Radcliffe is being reported as wanting to re vamp \ move from Old Trafford, guessing they would become big opponents of stadium costs being included in FFP if this goes ahead. In my opinion we would do well to match or better timescales should we push on with changes to St. James
Not if he gets the government to pay for it.

He's 20 and had a full season out on loan at Bolton. Now playing in a team littered with elite players and full of confidence.
He does look shit hot, mind.
Yeah, he's literally 3 years older than Miley. Can't really compare.

Finding it amusing how quickly ten Hag is trying to brush this under the carpet, there's no word about punishments or consequences even, only that's its an internal matter and the case is closed, he has ... accepted responsibility for his actions.
Yeah right Erik everything points to these players basically having no respect for you and the club but as you say, the case is closed, he's accepted responsibility so everything is fine.
He was fined two weeks wages (£650000 apparently).

Understat has it as Villa 1.44 - 3.32 NUFC. That seems more realistic to me.

Was it not really a foul on Miley though? He hooks him around the neck and absolutely throws him.

Isn’t there a vote on PSR coming up ?
I believe it's a vote to implement uefas even more restrictive rules.

Just seen one place say his contract is running out in the summer. Probably was running it down and City decided to get some money while they can.

Feyenord fans seemed negative about the loan from the beginning (a bit like we would if we loaned a youth player from one of the big 6) so not sure if that is colouring their view a bit. Certainly his numbers are really good. He's got 5 goals and 2 assists from about 800 minutes of play time. His FBref profile puts him in the 90th+ percentile for Attacking Mids/Wingers in most the major metrics. Admittedly though the stats indicate his passing is terrible. Still, it seems strange that Feyenord fans think him so poor given that.
