There will be those that talk of a "boycoutt" but I am sure the vast majority will turn up. I live in Chelmsford which is about 4.5 hours away, moved recently from Bournemouth which is 6.5 hours away and spent 2 hours last night checking on season tickets as I can probably do a return journey now. Don't think I am going to bother now.

Didn't he sign Raylor and Nolan? Maybe he is being recruited to eye more English players. Think JFK will have very little knowledge of up and coming players although he did seem quite good at lying and swearing.

He is going to need some elocution lessons - God knows how he is going to pronounce some of the French names. The Ashley era have a history of monumental cock-ups but I think this could be the biggest one yet.

Surely not! Not really, but it will make you feel better when you hear the fee of 15m...... Don't really care what the fee is, it doesn't matter the slightest for us fans. Don't think it will change any transfer plans for the summer. Feel better if it was nearer £25 million and we bought a decent replacement and others that we need.

The worst scenario (which may happen) is we get the cash for Cabaye, say £20 million and fanny about until the end of the transfer window and end up playing Gosling. I suppose it is better he goes now so we can have time to spend it (after Pardew et al return from their holidays at the end of the month of course).

On the bright side (again if it is true) I trust the scouting network to get in some good players and they will have a lot more choice with more money to spend. I just hope Pardew does not come out with the "sovereign states" excuse.

At the time we were confident better players would sign, and they did. Are we going to sign better than Cabaye? No. Agree - it will take a Graham Carr find of epic proportions to surpass Cabaye.
