  1. I believe FC Twente has an option in Douglas' contract to extend for one more year, and Douglas himself does not want to leave before August when he will be eligible to play for Holland having lived in the country for 5 years consecutively, so this is a no-goer until that time, and it won't be on a free if it does happen.
  2. Can't find much more info about him. but this looks promising (from a PSV forum where they are discussing him as a possible reinforcement): Mind, this is from October 2011 and there are also quite a few posters who say he will need one or two more seasons at FC Groningen's level before he's ready for the top of the Eredivisie..
  3. Blackburn, Villa and us apparently keeping taps on him. Promising centre half who can also play right back. Played his first U21 for Holland this past november. Very raw, but would be an interesting player in the Vuckic/Abeid mould. but for defense.
  4. Make it happen! Chuck in Smith and Lovenkrands too and it'd actually be a pretty good deal for them. All three could probably still do a job in the championship. How are they ever going to be able to afford Smith's wages..?
  5. Would prefer him to bring in Abeid or Guthrie.. Perch really offers nothing we would miss if you ask me..
  6. Still can't believe these counts completely outclassed us (Holland) in the 2008 European Championship, after we'd spanked Italy and France in the first round and looked shit hot favourites to win it.
  7. Most rumours seem to be around the 6 million market (7 million euros). That's not too bad then..
  8. Unsettle the player and hope they cave in.
  9. Luckily you are big spenders on the transfer market, so you can afford to write off the best part of 7 million with ease..
  10. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/spo...Newcastle_bid/ Newcastle United's initial bid for Adrian Mariappa was rebuffed by the Hornets as it was well short of their valuation for the player, the Watford Observer understands. The Magpies enquired about the centre back but we understand their first offer was not even considered by Watford as it was substantially less than what would be required to take Mariappa away from Vicarage Road. The 25-year-old, who has made 244 appearances for Watford since graduating from the club's academy, has 18 months left on his contract.
  11. Been terrible in the prem. They paid good money for him, didn't they? How much are they selling him for?
  12. Would be a huge bonus if he would be available for a significant part of this season. Had not counted on him being involved anymore at all..
  13. Don't understand why.. Do buying clubs expect prices to drop in the last few days? Maybe this would be true for bit part players at the selling club, but you'd expect the opposite for important players, which is what most of these clubs would be looking for anyway.
  14. Will this transfer window kick into gear in the last week and a half? I'm amazed it's been this quiet so far, looking at where a number of clubs are at: - Man U seem to need some bite in midfield for their title credentials to materialise - Spurs really need a (long term) replacement for Adebayor to secure CL - Can Chelsea afford to not bring in another striker, with Anelka already gone, Torres hopelessly out of form and Drogba at the ACN and leaving at the end of the season? - Arsenal are in turmoil and desperately need some quality in every area of the pitch if they don't want to lose out on CL. Also, they need to convince RvP that they have a future, or he'll be gone in the summer - Liverpool have spent zillions but can't seem to buy a goal. Should also be looking at reinforcements in attack - can established Premiership clubs like Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan afford to not bring in any reinforcements and risk going down? With so much at stake it can't stay this quiet, can it? *holding my breath for Ba especially as most of these clubs will be looking to bring in guaranteed goals - the ACN may be a blessing in disguise for us providing we don't lose too many points between now and the moment Tiote, Ba and Cisse return* Oh, and kudos to Ashley & Co for (so far) not looking to sell our best players and even spending big on making us stronger where others are playing the waiting game..
  15. Nah, they'll make an example of him. Tax evasion is a serious offence. This, and rightfully so. What's the maximum punishment he can get? 6-12 months in prison because of how serious it is and the fine they get is around double the amount they were due to pay. Hmm. If het gets time I'm sure they'll allow him to serve it in the summer. Could be a reason for Spurs to sack him though. Not sure if they'll want to considering how well he's doing, but they should if he's found guilty.

  17. Has GG been online lately? Would like to know what he thinks about this link..
  18. I think that's stretching it a little, but I honestly don't see why 6th would not be a real possibility.. As I said earlier, Liverpool and Arsenal are nothing special and I can see both sets of fans getting on the managers' and teams' back, which could work in our favour too..
