Yankuba Minteh (now playing for Brighton & Hove Albion)

He is Mane-like, so any comparison to him is not that odd. Show me who said he’d 100% certainly become the next Messi/Mane or stop being an arse disrespecting people for feeling uneasy about having to sell an obviously talented youngster who plays in a position where we obviously need a talent boost -

Is it? Look, you either accept that BHA are parting with 33m for proven ability or for potential. Which do you think it is? -

Nope, not Mane either. Just that he seems a very talented lad who could well become one of the best in his position over the next few years. I don’t think that’s an outrageous statement considering the clubs after him and the fee he’s commanded…? -

Same for you. No idea where you guys are reading Minteh is the “next best thing in World football”… -

Nobody is pretending Minteh is the new Messi, literally no one… -
Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

I know, but it explains the inflated 35m fee we’re getting for Anderson doesn’t it..? -

Maybe you’re wrong about the level of the league and the potential of the player if a number of PL clubs and foreign CL level clubs were vying for his signature at a significant fee..? Time will tell how well he does, we seemingly needed rid due to psr and we’ve sold at a good fee/profit, but let’s not pretend we’d not be stoked if instead of selling a 33m rated 19 year old right wing wonderkid that the likes of Brighton and Dortmund were after, we’d be buying one. -

It’s not the actual fee. We’re taking their useless third choice goalkeeper for an as yet unknown fee -

Would it be possible for you to stop being such a condescending prick, or is that too much to ask..? -
Quite probably aye. Let’s hope so anyway

Realistically I think that would get us at the table and at 150m it would become hard to reject. I love Isak as much as anyone, but while we are not at the very top yet our owners will need to wheel and deal to get there under this wretched financial “fair” play system the powers that be have got going on.
-
CL you’d have thought. Our best players will get itchy feet if we cannot show real progress year on year, and I doubt anything but CL will cut it for next season.

Our players attracting attention from other big clubs is a good thing. It means we’re doing something right. Doubt they can afford what we’d want for him anyway, but part of growing this club in these PSR times is undoubtedly selling when player’s value is at their highest. In the case of Isak though, I don’t think we’ve reached that point yet, considering his age and potential.

He's been good when he's played. You can't overlook the fact he's been unavailable for the majority of his time, his price tag, resale value and the fact it wasn't a priority position when evaluating the transfer though...

Don't think that is fair. It was evident that Kudus was a very good player and that Barnes at the price we paid was not some massive bargain. On top of that Kudus plays in a position we needed to strengthen whereas Barnes was more a squad depth addition. I think many people at the time would have preferred to see the Barnes money go to someone capable of holding a first team right wing place, like Kudus.

Thank God for this thread title

For 40m it's a no brainer evidently, providing it allows us to get one or two genuinely quality additions in (DCL, Trafford and Kilman don't strike me as signings that will allow us to reach the next level). -
Samuels and Ratcliff can both fuck off. For years they (their club in Ratcliff's case) have actually defended this sorry state of affairs.

Kylian Mbappe is not PL proven whereas Paul Dummett is. Surely you can't hold it against a 19-year old who has not been part of a PL squad that he isn't PL proven if you can also consider his stats on their own merit? -
I choose not to believe this one. Well done for jinxing it with its own thread Strawberry

I'm not concerned with VAR's remit, but if that wasn't a clear and obvious error, then I don't know what is. Meanwhile VAR is being used to cancel perfectly good goals -

To reverse those bookings, and perhaps tell the ref to go and take a shower to be replaced by someone competent? -
