I think after the World Cup, with Isak hopefully fully fit and Wilson in need of a rest, Isak will be our centre forward and going forward they will alternate/Wilson will be used as backup. You don’t sign a mega promising 60m centre forward to play them out of position or as second fiddle.
Can’t say much for the others you mention, but Reiss Nelson is certainly not a great prospect. Couldn’t even hack it at Feyenoord last year. I’d have a “Howed” Murphy over him every day of the week.
Indeed. There’s an argument to be made that Howe is making do with what he has inherited and plans to develop tactically as he brings in players that suit his vision for the future.
Aye, could be related to that too, although a 50% increase on the fee seems steep for a staged payment deal.
Edit: don’t think payment terms actually matters for FFP, since it’s all about amortisation isn’t it?
If my FM memory serves you don’t “need” to fill those squad places and players under a certain age (18?) don’t have to be registered, so it’s not like we won’t be able to play in Europe without another homegrown player.
I’d start ASM over Joelinton or Willock at left wing all day, especially with Burn at left back. Hardly any creativity there in case we need to break teams down.
I’d say one or two for the first team, and maybe a couple of young ones for the academy. If we can shift and replace some deadwood that would be nice as well.
