We're awful defensively and need to start picking up away points. If there's a time of the season to forget pretty football and just do what needs doing, this is it. Sorry mate, but if your idea of fun is to hope for more of this crap in the hope that we may survive to get even more of it next year I don't know what to say. We're beyond shit. The results are shit and the football is shit. We are the turd that won't flush from this league. If rather than giving it a real go and trying to play some decent football we are resigned to hoping Sunderland don't beat Palace and we can draw at Stoke playing hoofball with 10 men behind the ball this club is in a far worse state than I ever imagined. -

I don't care what anybody says, our football hasn't improved at all since the Pardew days. We're still playing defensive long ball shit, with the main difference being that despite having all the tools at his disposal McClaren wouldn't know how to set up for effective counter attacking football to save his life. -

I can't see Sunderland going down, so even ignoring the Pardew/Ashley debate a win for them could be better as it makes it more likely that Palace get dragged further into the relegation fight. Whatever happens, we are and should not be dependent on the likes of Sunderland and Norwich continuing to drop points at a faster rate than us. We have survival completely in our own hands - the squad is easily good enough and the fixture list is about as friendly as it could be. If we drop, we will have nobody to blame but ourselves and we certainly shouldn't point at a Sunderland - Palace match as being a huge factor in our demise.

A Sunderland win would be f***ing majestic tbh. Not that I'm disagreeing with your statement. If we're too f***ing s*** to get adequate points from a remaining fixture list including Bournemouth (H), Sunderland (H), Norwich (A), Swansea (H), Palace (H) and Villa (A), then so f***ing be it.

Fuck's sake, want Leicester to be champions more than I want us to stay up

You'd think this lot would have some humility after years and years of utter failure to meet even their own modest targets, but alas. If ever a club hierarchy deserved to go down for mismanagement and utter arrogance this is it.

Fair point I guess. I've not followed the forum closely for a few days and I was just amazed at how little speculation there has been about McClaren's position even if I wasn't personally expecting him to get the sack or walk on his own account. Guess Mike's making his own luck again.

The club being in huge relegation trouble with 12 games to go with the manager seemingly unable to get the best out of his squad, and not a single post in this thread for three days now. Guess we're all resigned to McClaren sticking around then?
