I think that's been a factor. Which won't be an encouragement for other managers to join us, if they have other decent options. Give over. Any other club of this size, with the results and performances we've seen for the past two and a half seasons, he would be long gone after relentless pressure from the fans and decisive action from the owner(s).

I think everyone thinks that s***. It might be why people don't get why we hate the f***ing prick. "But he signed-" Nah, motherfucker he didn't do s***. Probably some truth in this. I thought it was common knowledge that Pardew had next to no input in our transfer business, but seemingly not.

http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=150035&page=17 So much on this page. Seriously hope he goes there, takes his plodders (Williamson, Obertan et al) with him and relegates them. They deserve each other.

Would De Jong being there tempt him? Hard to say. I guess it could be an advantage that he knows two players here (Anita and De Jong) very well already.

Some FdB quotes from when he missed out on the Spurs job (my translation): "I could be manager of another club if I have a good feeling about it and could really contribute to building something. So people could say: that is Frank de Boer's influence at plan. Tottenham is a good club with a lot of potential. There is a lot to be improved in terms of results and performances, likewise Newcastle United and Liverpool. I am enjoying my time at Ajax and will have to think very carefully about my next move. I will always speak with and listen to a club and then will decide based on how I feel about it."

Not really. His style at Ajax has been effective, but not very appealing to the eye. I think he is respected amongst Ajax fans for his achievements, but not really loved because he hasn't really been able to implement the typical Ajax system in his time there.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure this will be Frank de Boer's last season in charge of Ajax. He's achieved all he can there (4 league wins in a row) and the club hasn't really progressed in their Champions League endeavors (understandably, since they can't keep their best players once foreign clubs come sniffing), which was the target he set himself. Ajax are currently second, 4 points off PSV, and there is a sense that they've gone as far as they can. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that De Boer could be interested in a mid season move. Whether he would be interested in joining us is a different question altogether. On the one hand, we provide a foothold in a big competition, and are still seen as a fairly big club. On the other hand, our reputation in Holland is one of a graveyard club. For that reason, I would expect him to say thanks but no thanks and wait for a more appealing proposition.

As a permanent appointment absolutely not. I'd rather stick with Pardew. Got so many positive memories of Pedro, and he still seems more 'Keegan' than 'Ashley/Pardew' when I think of what he represents. It'd be throwing him to the lions with the state of the club now and I can't see how it wouldn't end in tears. I know he has blotted his copybook a bit with his towing of this regime's line but it'd still break my heart to see him fail, supporters (probably pro-Pardew idiots) turning on him etc. At least the current captain arsehole gives me a focal point for undiluted, unconfused hatred. If Pardew jumps ship now and Pedro was appointed on the understanding it was a temporary appointment so that Ashley can take his time choosing the right man instead of just going with his gut instinct I'd be happy with that. Then I'd probably wake up from a very naive dream Rather keep Pardew? Fuck that shit

Even if this is just about money for him, Ashley must be frustrated at losing the likes of Ben Arfa and Yanga-Mbiwa at a loss, and ask Graham Carr what (type of) manager would get the best from the resources available. That should hopefully rule out Pullis. Strangely enough, I am not really against giving Beardsley a shot until the end of the season if that means we wait for a better manager to become available. I know he kisses Ashley's arse and all, but he seems to be doing fairly well with the reserves.

You almost want this to happen as much as we do. What have you done to me? Today's supposedly the day CAS is handing down his decision regarding Barça's transfer ban and I'm checking whether Pardew f***s off instead Regarding Frank de Boer. Do you think it likely that he will manage Barça one day, providing he does not take a wrong turn (like coming here) somewhere along the line?

Happening as in he wants the job and they want him. Only Ashley can stop it happening.

Palace forum (http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=150035&page=10): "his was being lined up nearly two weeks ago (Pardew) between the current owners and the perspective owners Its just up to Ashley to let him leave"

oh I don't know Ashley could end up asking for 35m-and I seriously wouldn't put it past him I honestly believe he was close to binning him at a cost to himself. I'm now presuming he realised he'd have to do it eventually due to the sheer incompetence of the man coward so to have a third party offer him money to remove him is a gift horse tbh. It's a no-brainer. You take the cash and breathe a huge sigh of relief. Who he approaches/appoints doesn't even concern me atm.

So many sources now. Must be some mileage in this.
