  1. devil's advocate time: was he that clueless on the pitch? his signings were poor for the money and didn't give enough back but they were defensively sound the entire season, had they had a top class striker (15+ goals) their season would have been entirely different let's be honest certainly not saying he way great, modern, progressive or anything like that but perhaps in football terms he wasn't quite as bad as is being made out just me then? Not just you. I have argued before they played some good football and finishing off the chances has been their stumbling block this season, despite investing nearly 70 million in their strikeforce in the past 18 months. Long may it continue..
  2. Alan Hansen seems to believe Liverpool won the FA Cup:
  3. From what I can find he has said he may want to stay, but no talk of an extension, which would mean running down his contract (which ends in 2013 supposedly)
  4. Either Mark Douglas or NUFC are clueless if they've only just found out about this..
  5. ToonZA can be our reporter on site like LucasUnger was a couple of years ago..
  6. The mods are discussing their position. As soon as they're finished they'll post it.
  7. Oh for fuck's sake, thought this scenario wouldn't unfold after it stayed all quiet yesterday..
  8. Stick to boxing man, seriously..

Surprised it's not MON for me like..

You certainly can. It even comes with a piece of string and a brightly coloured picture book showing how to tie a knot.
  11. Indeed. Facepalmtastic. Thread wouldn't have even been made if it wasn't for Demba Ba's contribution this season..

    Fraser Forster

I don't think Krul would have pushed for a move regardless of whether we qualified for European football or not. He got his first taste of first team football in Europe. Also, it wouldn't be just to appease Forster as you say; we need a strong squad as we're going to play over 50 competitive matches next season. I'd be well disappointed with Tim if he threw a hissy fit if we bring back a player from loan who's made significant progress to push him for a first team place.
  13. You'll be lucky to make it past the group phase tbqh..

    Fraser Forster

With the Europa League (if we manage to qualify for the group round) I suspect it will be more like 10-15 cup games in the first half of the season alone. It's up to him to make a good impression and push Krul for a first team spot from there on in, just like Krul has had to do with Harper last season. Whilst I obviously love Krul I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that Forster could realistically see some Premiership action next season. To me it doesn't make sense to let go of one of the country's most talented young goalkeepers, and a product of our academy, when we are facing the very real prospect of losing Krul as soon as somebody decides to put a 10m+ offer in for him. What if the manager doesnt share the idea of giving him all cup games? Or if Forster wants to play league football and not wait? Both are just as likely as the idea he would see your option as favourable. Of course. Not saying this will definitely happen, just what I'd try to do if I was Pardew/the club.

  16. That seems a bit more conclusive than a rumour like. Anybody know anything about him? This is him apparently:

    Fraser Forster

As I've argued before, hope we keep him and play him in the cups next season and as a deputy for Krul so we have a ready made replacement if some club decides to put in an offer we can't refuse for Mr Unbelievable.
  18. Yeah and 4-4-2 worked wonderfully against Spurs, Fulham etc etc didnt it? also basing a system's defensive structure on one game? seriously besides most of Wigans goals were due to individual errors and a wonder goal from Di Santo. Nothing to do with systems and also how many teams in this division plays 3-5-2/3-4-3? Wasn't that the first time we played 433?
  19. For the record, I dont want him to leave. We need that player who scored 15 in 15. Another one with a very strange way of showing their appreciation.
  20. Dave, can you clarify our position on this rumour? I'm confused..
  21. Back in 2009, we were relegated after a disaster of a season. Keegan had been 'forced out' of the club back in September and the maelstrom that followed did nothing to help the team, nor the 3 other managers who attempted to correct the club's inevitable course downwards. This meant that we kicked off the 2009/10 season in the Coca-Cola Championship, playing away from the headlines and non-stop news of the Premier League. Out of the spotlight, the club managed to right itself inside and out, thus beginning the upward momentum which has gathered pace over the last 3 seasons and landed us back in Europe. Very good.. I'm almost certainly being wooshed here by your famous British sense of humour, but isn't that second row of figures in Dave's post last season's? Edit: fuck me, just noticed the bottom row..
