Why is Obertan getting praise whenever hes NOT s***. Hes not been very good man. He has zero brain. Bigi motm this far. And Elliot has saved us twice so he has definitely been better than ''decent'' Obertan did alright, bot just by his low standards. Used his pace well and got a decent shot away. Not been involved enough, but been miles better than Amalfitano on the other wing. Can only really remember one Elliot save, but missed a few minutes, so might have missed the other.

What a bunch of cunts. Hope we batter them in the second half. Feels like a pre season match so far. Good performances by Perch, Bigi and Obertan so far. Williamson is a train wreck. Elliot's been decent. Expected better from Amalfitano. The others have been OK.

I have a feeling these are not to be underestimated. Finished fifth in a pretty strong league. A win is by no means a technicality, especially since we're essentially playing a second string + Taylor and Santon.

Erm, doesn't that always apply? Not really. Against a more agile keeper the odds may be better if you shoot it higher when the keeper is crouched near the ground. With Harper's complete lack of agility, anything coming in low means he's not got a chance and just falls face forward into the ground. I rate what he's done for the club, and I hope he keeps on as a coach, but to have to rely on him now is a horrible prospect. I assumed by the fact Forster was let go and not replaced Elliott was our second goalkeeper, with Harper the veteran third option in case of an emergency, but seemingly not..

You what!? I understand sentimentality and all that, but that is just plain nonsense.

It worries me that as an opposition manager you only need to instruct your players to keep the shots low and slightly out of reach of Harper to get the goals, instead of having to take a chance of burrying it in the corner with the potential of missing or hitting the post. The sooner Krul is back the better, but now (Euro mid week) might be a good time to see what Elliot is capable of.

I doubt that Krul would have saved both, I'm not sure he would have got either but we'll never know. The quicker he's back the better though. A 'keeper capable of moving sideways instead of only forwards does tend to help though.

Apart from actually having his shooting boots on his all round play and holding up of the ball means he should start ahead of Cisse for me at the moment, if it has to be one or the other.
