Phil Neville is left with the entire left hand side to deal with at the moment. Where is Lampard playing?
  2. Yorkie

    England-Spain

England started very well. Lamaprd/Gerrard erratic as usual though in the early stages.

Is that dance/French music supposed to get the pulses racing or something?

I love the way the C5 commentators love Peter Ramage, they think he's a good player! Shattap.
  5. It'll finish: 1. Henry's absolutely amazing goal cos it's Henry vs Blackburn 2. Rooney's "best goal ever in FA Cup history *wank*" vs Pompey 3. Pennant's decent chip against the faltering Champions Chelsea Nailed on.

Was gonna say the Channel 5 UEFA Cup coverage, but the hilarity of their patheticness puts an entertaining swing on Levadia, Ventspils, and no doubt, Zulte-type games. It's fun making tallies with the Channel 5 commentators, aswell. Like how many times Joe Royle can say 'outstanding' in one game, or how long it'll be before Jon Helm mentions 'James Milner' and 'Leeds' in the same sentence.
  7. Seriously impressed with the attendance last night... 28,000! Is that normal for an Under-21 game? That's superb. And David Nugent really is a cracking finisher.
  8. Why do you say that? Not having a go, would just like to hear your reasoning. BTW, i think the poll should maybe have one or two more options. Such as this one that Baggio has suggested. Or the one that i suggested: see where we are at the end of his contract... Might be too late though, cos there's already been 40 votes. Just a suggestion, though.
  9. Besides, i like the sound of his transfer policy. It's the one that Bobby enforced - bring in young ones and build a team 'from scratch', for the future. I seriously hope he fulfills it and i have faith in him to do so. He might have a bit of cash to spend in the summer aswell...
  10. Would still like to see him with his own squad, tbh. I know the past transfer windows have been pathetic, but it'll be different in the summer. I will genuinely be surprised if he cocks up as massively as he has done in the last two. I want to see him with his own squad and his own team. I don't think he's actually done anything to warrant a sacking, because the truth is, he has certainly taken us forward. We were talking about being 'in contention for' relegation in October this season, and it was silly talk. The difference with Souness was: we were still talking about it come February, and it was not silly talk - we were going down. That's where Glenn and Graeme are different, despite how the two often get compared. Roeder may not be a brilliant manager and by no means am i a big fan, but he has taken us forward significantly since he has taken the job. And although i slate him at times for the odd thing, he deserves credit on the whole. He infuriates me and the rest of us with his line-ups. The shiteness and barbaric decisions that he makes regarding line-ups are a fairly regular thing when we've got more than 11 first-teamers fit, and this for me, is the aspect that irritates me the most about him. That's my biggest gripe; his team selection's. However, that might change for the better in the future when (if) he gets his own team, in spite of us inevitably disagreeing. To not even give him a full season would be absolute madness. Infact, unless we're really in the shit at some point next season, he should atleast run out his contract. However, if he finishes 7th, 11th, 10th (or something like that) in his two and a bit year contract, then there's no way it should be renewed. That would be a lack of ambition, similar to the Bramble-being-here-for-five-years joke, or even keeping Sibi on for more than another season. It'd show a lack of ambition and settling for mediocrity - something Shepherd seems to do despite his 'best or nothing' crap to the media. Verdict: Let him run out his contract at the very least, and see where we are at the end of next season, unless he does go really crap.
  11. Completely agree with you mate, and so you should. Delimna said that you would be a 'forced to be reckoned with', or something along those lines, and i - personally - can't see that happening.
  12. Delima, i assume it because i've seen it SO many times before. I don't think Reading will be a 'force to be reckoned with'. And btw, Wigan also lost the likes of Roberts, Henchoz, Chimbonda, Kavanagh, etc aswell as Bullard.
  13. Expect LOADS more jokes like that in the coming weeks from the media. They'll write it off and write it off and write it off. As the English press tends to do, they've built it up just to knock it down. If you excuse the pun, you know what i mean.
  14. Martins' goal against Tottenham. Martins' face after the goal against Tottenham. I watch that whole piece a lot. SO glad my auntie taped that game. One of the best goals/moments altogether type thing in the last few seasons for me. There's no specific reason for it to be, but that moment is just one that i love. Everyone has their favourite goals, etc, and that's definitely one of mine. Who won January Goal of the Month?
  15. Well i'm happy enough so far. I'd be willing to bet with you that the Martins-Dyer partnership will continue to be a decent one, at the very least, until the end of the season.
  16. He barely moves? I thought he is one of the best player in the second half. Showed some good movements and good positioning. I think he will at the very least achieve as much as Darren Bent. Kevin Doyle, Leloy Lita, David Kitson, Stephen Hunt Bobby Convey, James Harper, Steve Sidwell Nicky Shorey, Alan Bennett, Greg Halford Steve Coppell Reading is going to be a force to be reckoned for quite a while. Yeah right. If they don't qualify for Europe, they'll do a Wigan - simple as. Two or three of their best performers will probably go - Sidwell/Doyle/maybe even Lita, and the others you mentioned are hardly anything special - at all. They're mid-table fodder at the bery best, just enjoying a honeymoon spell in their first season in the Premiership. They'll go EXACTLY the same way as all the others. The Ipswichs, the Sunderlands, the West Hams the Wigans. They've got absolutely nowt different about them or anything that stands out to suggests otherwise. They'll do nowt in the summer, let one or two of their 'really' good players go and fail to replace them because the good players simply won't want to go somewhere like that. Finish 15th-relegation zone next season and be out of the Premiership within the next four/five years. It's a nice thought but it just ain't gonna happen. IMO.

The media jizzfest over Thierry Henry and Wayne Rooney. Commentators/pundits cream themselves if either player scores a simple tap in and cry out for it to be goal of the month or season just because it's them Nicked my line. Although i was going to label it Jon Motson, not 'the media'. It's always those two with Motson.
  18. Not sure whether you're being sarcastic or not tbh...?
  19. Lampard, Gerrard. Friendlies are for experimenting. Glad to see Foster, Woodgate, Phil Neville (dislike him but he's been excellent of late), Dyer in there. However, if Spain play anything close to their first eleven, we'd be right to get mullered. Of course, it rarely turns out like that. Should be a decent watch. Spain were a lot of fun in the World Cup.
  20. If Barry gets put anywhere but left-mid, and Dyer anywhere but upfront, then it's a waste of a place. After all, they're getting picked for their recent performances in their respective positions, not different ones. Why bother picking them if you're going to put them into a position where they have not justified selection?
  21. According to one of SkySports guys in Spain, saw this at lunchtime, there's only one place that Torres wants to be, and that Man Utd. Would absolutely LOVE to see him in the Premiership. I thought he was ace in the World Cup. That goal against Romania.... augh!
