  1. I won't engage in the wider debate cos folks have heard enough from me about it. Agree to disagree.
  2. But you also want rid of VAR altogether don't you? I'm at the point where I'd rather not have it than have it (altogether) because I think it's inherently flawed, but theoretically I can see the value in it being applied in limited scenarios. For instance, upgrading Jackson's yellow to a red because the on-field referee was unable to see, in real time, the severity of the offence is a very good use of VAR. But the inherent flaw is how an almost identical offence was missed the week before (Enciso on Tonali), or how an identical outcome was wrongfully applied the week prior (Evanilson v Man Utd). I've always been categorically against it on offsides and my view on that will never change.
  3. All three Arsenal kits next season are fantastic. Like the Juve kit even more seeing it worn and particularly sponsorless. River Plate obscenely good. This Adidas template is so much cleaner.
  4. There are risks every time you step onto the field but this is different in that it's completely avoidable. How many completely avoidable (and potentially life-threatening) injuries would need to happen before you felt differently? Anyway, you're framing this as if I'm arguing it's the only reason to bin VAR on offsides. I'm not, I'm saying add it to all the other reasons.
  5. What's baffling? He wouldn't have got injured if the flag had been raised straight away. Injuries can happen at any time in the 90 minutes but I'm obviously talking about within the context of that specific incident.
  6. It's not about the norm; it only needs to happen once to demonstrate there's a risk. It was always going to happen eventually and it gets routinely referred to whenever anyone's discussing this modern flagging protocol. If the flag isn't delayed there's 0% chance a player gets injured in that passage of play. If the flag is delayed, there's X% chance a player gets injured. Any aspect of the game which increases the chance of totally avoidable injuries should be binned if possible. My bottom line is that it's just another thing in the cons list when it comes to VAR on offsides (as a unique concept).
  7. Absolutely gutting if so. Not just for him but because I felt like we could definitely go and beat Arsenal with that same set up. Hopefully Krafth can come in and Schär go central.
  8. This is on me because I didn't define it this way at first - but what I'm really referring to is 'VAR being applied to offside decisions' as opposed to VAR in totality. That's always and forever been my principal issue with it. Hopefully there's enough in my post history to quantify this position rather than have it appear as backtracking. And it's not so much blaming VAR (being applied to offside decisions), but saying it doesn't happen without it.
  9. Don't see any complication here. If it's given as offside straight away he doesn't clatter into the post; it's a simple as that. Other hypothetical scenarios are irrelevant.
  10. I don't see how it can be anything other than a dreadful look for VAR imo. It's outright proof that it's existence increases the likelihood of injuries. Not by a lot, obviously; it's a pretty uncommon event. But the fact is, if it doesn't exist then the guy doesn't rupture his intestine.
  11. I don't mind that. It's unusual but I think that's okay. Interestingly it has something like faded/'smokey' effect that was in those miles-off rumours for our forthcoming kit. The back is terrible, obviously. I would love to see something vaguely original for us. And by original, I don't mean an effect applied to the stripes which poorly represents the fucking stitching on a far, far superior kit. 🙃

Couldn't give a shiny shite about a bit of play-acting these days. Address the institutional bias against everyone outside 'the big six' and I might feel more strongly.
  13. Interesting that they have decided not to go with the orange and green stripe down one side, which is obviously what made that kit so unique.
  14. I've never been a huge fan of the circular one. Firstly because I don't really like circular badges and secondly because it's so basic. Cartoonish 1980s clip art. Though I do quite like the font. If we're changing the crest to define a new era then I think it's important that we do something fresh and original. The ones between 76-88 will obviously mean something to some people, but in the grand scheme of things I don't think they're worthy of returning to. It's been a while since I mentioned having all four adorned and backlit on the East Stand/new stadium fascia, then they're all affixed to the club in perpetuity, just not on the shirts.
  15. His face on the match cam after Bruno skies one.
  16. It can be done. I'm planning to have a bash with some ropey DHGate shirts before committing to something more expensive/meaningful. There's a few vids like this. This is the product they use: https://www.amazon.co.uk/AlbaChem-Transfer-Vinyl-Letter-Remover/dp/B01N17AEHP/ref=asc_df_B01N17AEHP?mcid=7716b0a8b8ed370a85d313c205329549&hvocijid=2560146133952152153-B01N17AEHP-&hvexpln=74&tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=696285193871&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2560146133952152153&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046293&hvtargid=pla-2281435177898&psc=1&gad_source=1
  17. Christ on a fucking bike, man. What? How is someone designing that and being like, "yep, that's what we're after." That stitching effect is a frigging joke n'all. So stupid.
  18. We still go 2nd next week as it stands.
  19. Hopefully for them Nuno won't mind being publicly undermined by that raving idiot. He's the best thing that's happened to that club in donkeys.
  20. Buonanotte looks like a project for someone but agree that if we're going to kick on from a 2nd place finish we need to recruit ready-made talent.
  21. Happy for Forest. It'll be brilliant if they finish in the CL at Chelsea's expense.
