Needs to be given a bit of freedom to go up the park and knock it around a bit.

Think that comment was tongue in cheek humour tbf.

You've been on form the last few weeks.

He doesn't really say anything wrong, but if there's a bandwagon to be leapt on.. Are you happy with the manager making comments this often about players leaving? I don't see what the purpose of it is? To alert other clubs they are for sale?

It's nailed on our CM will be forced to sit too deep.

It won't be so 'interesting' if we're losing Pards.

He's a 'character' alright. I'm never sure if he's selling a vision for the club or just himself. He's always had no problems talking himself up. He's got some good results, but it would win him more credit if there was some real honesty in his patter. There is a real worry this weekend that MON will completely outhink him.

"There has also been a change of style on the pitch. “We are more in control of games,” Pardew says. “ Last year we had nous and experience, this year we have looked the dominant force at times. Man Utd was the pinnacle of that.” I don't think we are at all. The majority of the games we've been battling to stay in them/hold onto a lead etc.. There have been 5 min patches here and there where we have played well and often scored during these phases. I think overall he's performed well...But I don't think we've ever been in control of more than a handful of games for any period. He's in full PR drive. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/9116173/Newcastle-United-manager-Alan-Pardew-has-silenced-critics-to-sell-vision-of-fast-brand-of-front-foot-football.html

Yeah but distribution of goals is dreadful in the current side. Most other sides have 3/4 players chipping in with goals. Ironically Hba is the one mf we have who has shown he can score goals.

It will all depend on if they get a proper manager in.

What's this based on exactly? Success as Man Utd reserve manager, coming in and winning the first league title in history for the club he went to after in his first season. Fergie saying he's the one to watch of his former students and so on. For starters. Reserve team manager? I've put up a serious list.

Pards is an ego-maniac. "Hey! Let me tell you about this great formation I've discovered...Oh you want to hear about Hatem? Pards (irritated that his mastery is being overlooked)...Yeah Hatem is a great player, does wonders in training...He's really ace....blah blah.. Makes mental note to drop him for another 5 games.

I dunno is heaven missing an angel?

As I've said, I'd use this as a transition tournament and give promising kids a go. They'd probably make it out of the groups and get some experience of the knockouts. [ I'm worried by how similar our wavelengths are lately, Parky I'm hoping you say something batshit crazy soon. ] Always have that in reserve fella.

England are about a decade behind the continental game.

He's certainly got a good aura about him.

The jury's still out on him considering he was pretty poor at Catania, he needs to prove himself long-term in Europe at Atlético. They might just be experiencing a Sunderland-esque new manager 'pop'. If Chelsea decide to get rid of Villas Boas they might take a stab at Mazzarri. His teams don't play pretty football (soak up pressure, lightining quick counter attacks), he always plays 3 at the back and can be very irritating (always moaning about referres and having excuses for his players when they lose) but in terms of team motivation, team discipline and physical conditioning he's top rate. Would also be a classic Chelsea flavour-of-the-month appointment considering he's about to knock them out of Europe. I personally hope for their sake they give AVB another season. Among the 'up-and-coming' managers, Conte is definitely the most promising. Why do you say that? Know he's doing well at Juve but he's been a mixed bag in the past.

Job at Wigan as long as he wants it apparently (as long as they stay in the PL).

He's been hovering around the N.O. job apparently.
