If he keeps it up none of us will ever have to send £2 a month to them ever again. His 'source' is some random on Toontastic btw. For real. I know you'll always nip over and check btw.

We've made a second bid. Wesley has signed for Bremen.
-
He's not going to Werder Bremen ffs!

I can also understand OM's position, my only problem is that we're being told an agreement had been reached. wouldn't be surprisewd if the agreement was of a loan fee, then a fee if we stopped up.....ammounts yet to be agreed and that has been the block, plus the possible desire of NUFC to insert a 2500000 game clause. FYP

SBR certainy had a vast swathe of knowledge of all the aspects of the game inc Europe.

That's why I specifically said General Manager (with a football background) anticipating the thread going sideways.

Excellent post. Two points to echo, there are no clubs in the Pl who aren't in debt of some kind, even Birmingham who ae running an operating profit (yeah it does happen) of £13m have net debt of 12m. The teams that we are going to be in a fight with have debts running form 20 to 30m£, I think Stoke have the lowest primarily due to their ultra low wage bill. But if you look the next tier up at Fulham, Villa, Sunderland, Bolton, West Ham, the debt are in the 50m+ category (Fulham 164m debt). These are basically the mid-table clubs who have taken on debt to stave off relegation out of the goldmine that is the PL and it is this that MA needs to look at most closely. Nobody is asking the club take wild gambles and I genuinely feel that the slow cutting of wages and outgoings bodes well for the future, but to take it to such extremes (hunting around for free's and loans in what it the most important season in a long time for the overall health of the club) is utter madness or absolute negligence. The other thing is branding and profile the 'wow' factor if you like of driving a club forward with the supporters in tow is the quickest way to land bigger sponsorship, marketing and advertising deals. The revenue stream as a whole improves no end the higher up the table the club goes and the better profile it acquires. On both counts I fiind MA really short sighted and wanting. He really needs a General manager in there with football savvy who has been in and around the game and knows how to exploit its various demands.

I'll have you know that in 1978 my Tonka Trunk beat my Evel Knievel dragster in one off race between the dining room table and the telephone table at the bottom of the stairs. The race was witnessed by my 2 year old brother, my uncle Bob and several eagle eyed action men who had prime seats on the bottom step

Give the manager something to work with. We have no cover at left back, three clowns at right back, a midfield with the movement of Tonka trucks, a left winger with less assists than Grobellar with a bet on and a rookie striker with no support. Step up you fat fuck.

But Parky says NO They have a surfeit of high quality mifielders and I'm hoping won't be able to give Bafra the assurances of first team football he is clearly looking for. It was the key reason he left OM, apart from the fact DD is an arsepiece.
-
My thinking is that the Wesley agreements have taken a long time (first interest was back in June) and they have sniffed at Bafra just incase Wesley's demands got too ridiculous. Bafra won't go unless he is a guarnteed starter (which is why he likes us), with the competion he would have there I personally can't see him getting assurances he's looking for. Bafra is keenly aware (being on the fringes of the national side) that this move must if anything gurarantee lots of shop window footie). There is still hope IMO, but we're really leaving it to chance now. If anything his tantrum has scared off a lot of clubs, which has uptill now worked in our favour.

Think Wesley is the Ozil replacement by the looks of things.

This thread is clear proof of the possibility of making energy from the void.

I'd wager we had designs on only playing him at home, thus avoiding the potential cost. First thing that sprung to mind when I saw the wording.

There hasn't been a single thing in the German media. [/strawclutcher]

Someone on TT is still saying he is coming to us.

I'm not an Ashley supporter and I'm pretty peeved that we're simply refusing to spend money, but this ridiculous myth that Ashley is pocketing the TV money etc. just has to stop. He's not allowed to take money out of the club willy nilly, it's not how it works . Its his business, he owns all shares and can do and take exactly what he likes. His investments are all loans and he's using the cash coming in to fill his own pocket. Sorry but thats all bollocks. Its a limited company, any money that flows from the club to Ashley has to be properly accounted for - I'm pretty sure that he would have had to give written guarantees that he would not be reclaiming any money from his loans/cash injections this year in order to get the accounts signed off (the club would be insolvent if not if memory serves...) If he went back on this and took the cash out he is leaving himsefl open to all sorts of legal action from creditors, companies house and the auditors. He might be using the TV money to ensure that he has to put less in, but this isn't the same as taking the money out I own a limited company and can assure you I can take out what I want, when I want. As long as the business does not become insolvent and I pay the tax on it, no one can do a thing about it. As long as you're the sole director/chairman?
-
If a bigger club came in for him, do you genuinely believe we'd get less than we paid for him? He would have to have had a good season for them to even be interested. It's false economy. What I just said on TT.
-
It's not how much ground you cover, it's about what you do with the ball. He can be a decent player at times, but more often than not he's so fucking frustrating. Why he feels the need to go past every man on the pitch before making a pass, I dunno. Cause he can't believe he actually got past someone?
-
When he does cut back in and cross with his right it's sometimes a decent cross. He needs to stop deluding himself he can cross with the left peg. And stop filldling with his hair.
-
It really is silly money compared to the 30 odd million windfall of getting back in the PL. yeap, i can't believe some of the risk's the fat buffon takes on this club at times! sign a couple of quality players and we should be fine to push for top-end of the bottom half of the premiership, sign no-one and we could easily get relegated Analysing all the rumours it looks like 2/3 will come in. Fingers crossed. Silly not being fully equipped for games as points are always at a premium in the PL.
