It's actually subliminal identification. It's a defence mechanism that shows a sign of anxiety. ie Look I'm talking about 'the football club'...I'm not here don't look at me or blame me....etc... but he was talking about the club,is he supposed to talk about it without mentioning it ? I thought the idea of what Brummie was saying was repitition. No? was it ? thought it was the use of the term football club instead of just club "I always considered Stuart Pearce to be the worst (although both MON and SA are occasional offenders), but today I've seen two interviews with Sammy 'Championship' Lee, where he uses the term about 12 times." Brummie. I think his point is not so much that Little Sammy says it a lot, but that the word "football" is, in this instance, entirely unnecessary. But why does he?

You people still don't see the point the OP is making, I think we can all acknowledge that improvements have been made, he's just questioning whether we've made big enough strides to propell us to were we feel we should be. Personally with the improvements to our squad and to the squads of the other teams in the league, I think we'll finish in 8th or 9th, better than last year but still mid table and out of Europe. That's the point he's making, he was hoping for better, me too if I'm honest. If Ashley had said when he took over I'm going to give Big Sam the grand total of £7mill to spend on players this summer then a think a lot of people would have been disappointed, most would have expected at least £20mill, "the blokes a Billionaire for goodness sake". Are you being deliberately thick? He's behind you!

was that a dig at me? cos i was taking the piss mate... nah it wasnt, I havent even read what you said. My point was just part of what BB is moaning about is the amount weve spent, when imo it means nothing when you consider souness spent 50million If spending money means nothing (i.e. doesn't increase the chances of success), do you believe that Chelsea would have been champions twice in the last three seasons without Abramovic's oil dollars? ManC have spent a lot but you must bear in mind they had little quality to begin with. And Spurs have purchased all the wrong players for large sums.

A club is developed in phases and a well thought through strategy that inc investment behind the scenes and in the overall knowledge base. To build a team from solid foundations as SA is doing is nothing to be scoffed at and not something that shows lack of foresight or spending power. We have the ability to spend and this has been made clear often enough by Mr Mort and other communications from the club. £30m has been wiped off the debt and a lot of stragglers have been cleared out. We already show signs of a dynamic and competitive midfield that is less likely to roll over away from home and our strike force is as good as any in the league on paper. Def issues have been addressed and will continue to be addressed. Throwing silly money at players is not out policy any longer and a good thing that is too. SA has highlighted the need to compete and keep clean sheets as part of his philosophy to develop a side that is hard to beat, witness the seachange in Liverpool with the arrival of Benitez, it was safety first and still is to an extent and the same goes for Chelsea. Combine this with the fact that we have signed and excellent prospect and sought after left back at the fraction of the cost of the player that Spurs have acquired and I am more than happy. The next step will be to add some creativity to the midfield and don't assume that Sam isn't aware of this (witness the continuing rumours reg Deco). I don't think SA has any intention on relying on Emre alone and that will be the case as you'll see by the end of the transfer window. We are moving in the right direction which I feel is clear to the majority of the support.

Aye. Thread title is Italian though I think that is what he is referring to. And a post you made earlier.... not to mention the 'Toon Ultras' thinking of renaming themselves 'tifosi' ... is there some in-joke I'm not getting? (Not sure if that sounds right in Italian). The translation is correct, but I've not heard them use that terminology. I've heard them use 'I'm sorry'/mi dispiace in that context but it doesn't sound right here. There's probably a better way to say it. I'm sure you're not intending to convey sorrow for the loss of Vic. No sorrow. Matters at hand. What is with the Lazio midfielder, anything in your press? Gabi Mudingayi from SS Lazio. Can't say I've heard anything. And I'm not likely to.... came back to England the day before yesterday. Not sure when I'll be heading back to Italy. How'd you pick up Italian? That's classifyied I'm afraid.

Yes I'm sure he had issues Keef and perhaps a bit of an arsehole.

And I told you so. They also rebuffed an improved offer of 22m Euro. So much for getting him for 7m quid....
