  1. Why I'm I involved in it? the answer's in the question imo
  2. hmm i dunno man, cabaye might not settle immediately? with injuries and suspensions i reckon barton would've seen quite a bit of action?
  3. aye but 16 players on low ish wages with sell on value
  4. How do you know he wasn't offered a new contract? After 22 years of following English football, in this day and age I'd take the player's word of our owners any day of the week. Did Barton ever claim he was never offered a contract? Willie McKay: Willie Mckay?, he's f***ing worse than Ashley!! Also he doesn't say Barton has never been offered a contract. They could have already offered him a deal, he rejected it and they told him he wouldn't be offered anything more. Why on earth would they not offer him any kind of contract?, that makes no sense. Sorry I hadn't realised Willie McKay was proven in court to deliberately mislead fans/customers and to lie openly. Please point me to where it shows McKay is less honest than this. And Mackay isn't the one ruining Newcastle United. he did his bit a few seasons back to be fair
  5. He made a stink because he was told someone better at taking free-kicks and corners was going to be doing that from now on. That is child-like behaviour and as a player, you don't have a say in that. That is making a statement that you don't respect the decisions of the manager, and no doubt the stink was thrown up in front of other players. That's really gonna help improve team spirit!! Not offering this guy a new contract was exactly the right thing to do IMO, sorry. not respecting the decisions of the manager starts at the top to be fair
  6. just cant wait until ashley fucks off. honestly man, with the last few years of freddy and everything since this club's become about absolutely anything except football. so much so that we all just sit around talking about who's fault everything is. it's a tragedy.
  7. Which one has the horrendous injury record? granted it's from wikipedia but sylvain marveaux made 106 appearance for Rennes in 5 years, that's not great.
  8. Enough to know he can already take better free kicks, better corners and pass the ball better than Barton. Why can't some people focus on the positive aspects instead of always jumping on the negatives? Don't get me wrong, I think the board are doing a terrible job and have done ever since they took over, but I don't think our transfer activity has been too bad so far this summer, as long as we haven't seen the last of the new players to join us. Again, that's not quite the whole argument of mine there is it? Some players do well over here, some don't. What's your point? Maybe the problem here is people thinking negatively, instead of thinking 'maybe he'll be great, the signs so far are promising...' What's wrong with feeling hopeful about the new season? The fact he is using Twitter doesn't bother me, but he needs to think about the consequences if he is going to. I'm more concerned with his genuine ability. He certainly isn't the player he tells French football magazines he is. what's the whole argument? As a whole Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Marveuax will be 'better' than Nolan and Barton? one is coming back from a career threatening injury, two have never played in the uk, one has a horrendous injury record and they've got what? 5 premiership games between them?
  9. Cannot even begin to fathom the depth of the turd swamp we'd be sinking in if Pardew resigned at this point. No one in the world would come in. it's the beginning of the 2011/12 season, and nufc cant afford to lose Alan Pardew Pardew won't resign man, he was brought in to put up with this exact scenario. i know that
  10. he picks the team and speaks when he's spoken to

No one in the world would come in. it's the beginning of the 2011/12 season, and nufc cant afford to lose Alan Pardew Of course it would be an absolute disaster if he resigned. But, realistically, if he had any sort of character, he should do it. if he had any sort of character he wouldnt have taken the job in the first place True. But he probably didn't know it would be THAT bad. well the pretty low average wage with added incentives/per week cunt should have done his homework better

  14. Aye. The people apologising for this 65k/week cunt make me vomit. what are you on about?
  15. What actually goes on on the pitch seems incidental to some people. Don't lose sight of important things like money sitting in a bank account or players doing stuff on twitter by getting all wound up about who we're actually going to play in 12 days. Don't assume this will be the only outgoing either. With all due respect, what the hell are you talking about? This decision has nothing to do with money sitting in a bank account at all. At least find the right thread of ill-informed generalising. Ian, they've got his wages off the books, which is one of the main reasons Pardew was brought in if we're to believe Golfmag (i see no reason not to since he was absolutely right about Pardew coming in ages before time). He will not be replaced by anyone, money saved. Aye, but that's just an effect, it's clear that Barton brought this into the public domain and brought the situation to a head. Unless Llambias is secretly running his twitter account. oh come ON man, it's not just an effect for gods sake. Well that's impossible to know, I'm just saying I don't think every decision at NUFC is made with reference to the wage bill. It's obviously a factor, but Joey has made his position untenable. Disagree, difficult but not 'untenable'. Not by any stretch. absolutely, it's not untenable at all. allllllllll this could have been avoided if he was given a contract he deserved and that would have been undeniably good for the team. why wasnt it renewed? it involves us paying him money.

  17. Using the rift between the fans and the owner to try and get a new deal. It's too convenient for them. Too easy. No, I think his brilliant performances all last season was his justification for a new contract. that would be thinking about the football though, elementary mistake

At least find the right thread of ill-informed generalising. I'm speaking in a wider sense about some people's reaction when Ashley does something which has an absolutely undeniable negative effect on our ability to perform as a football club. That selling Carroll was the right decision from a financial perspective, that releasing Barton is the right decision from a PR perspective because he doesn't toe the party line on twitter. If you have to stop looking at things from a football perspective to try and convince yourself they're OK you need to press your reset button and go back to thinking like a football fan.

  20. 'we had a situation with one player where we had to let him go, for certain reasons, and obviously not getting a fee for him meant we could only replace him with certain players who we didnt feel would be good enough for noocarsull'
  21. apologies, an idiotic post is what i should have said, i'm sure you're lovely. i fail to see what point you've proved other than that different people have different views? my point is that - im my opinion - that we live in extreme highs and extreme lows - nothing in between. I think a solid season of 8th-14th would be a good season. Next year the same. All the while we are looking for more Cabaye/Tiote/Gosling type deals. All the while improving our squad. Thats a solid plan. Realistic, and sets us up for a good push 2-3 seasons from now. i see plenty of people making measured predictions about everything. look at the results of the poll in THIS THREAD ffs you cant call a range of views from a range of people hypocritical or knee jerk with any authority at all.
  22. not in the first 11? on a decent wage? we dont want you
