  1. i think cabaye looks a good prospect too, it's the suggestion that him and his two crocked mates represent a sure improvement that i take issue with.
  2. I've blown smoke up your Mum's arse crack, does that count? We have three new players in midfield and we've lost two, to put it a lit bit more simply for you. IMO Cabaye is better by far than Barton and Ben Arfa will be better than Nolan. Throw Marv into that and all-together, the squad in that area is improved. How much have you seen of Cabaye? marginally more than he's seen of my mam. thanks for putting it simply but having '3 players instead of 2 and therefore we'll be better' is a little bit too simple dont you think?
  3. apologies, an idiotic post is what i should have said, i'm sure you're lovely. i fail to see what point you've proved other than that different people have different views?
  4. ahhh, the old 'attribute a multitude of views to a collective group as if it only has one mind and then question the hypocrisy' post. idiot
  5. I have a feeling that getting rid of Barton has been on the agenda this summer, and although I'm often outspoken on it, I'm not that bothered. I don't rate him very highly and I certainly wouldn't want him to be at the club for another 5 years (which is what he'd push for in a new contract). His free kicks and corners have been poor, particularly over the last season and he is always giving the ball away. I think he is already replaced, and that's by Yohan Cabaye. The midfield this year has been bolstered by Cabaye, Marveaux and the return of Ben Arfa and even though we've lost Nolan and seemingly Barton, I think overall you have to say that's an improvement. It goes without saying of course, that a replacement for Enrique if he is going and another new center forward are still high priority to improve the squad in the other required areas. so cabaye's replaced two players? one of which was our top scorer? and marveaux (who's got a terrible injury record) and ben arfa (who's coming back from a career threatening injury) make it alright to lose nolan and barton? what kind of crack are you smoking?
  6. I wanted him sacked too btw. Yup It is rather amusing that the majority on here idolised him last season despite him being a convicted criminal and general anus, however, as soon as he produces a few nasty tweets directed at the owners, who have constantly shit all over the club, the man is the human realisation of satin. announcement will be he's getting married imo
  7. looking like Pardew's gonna put Taylor in at centre back AGAIN is it? fuck my life, what a clown. he already tried to shoe-horn him in a few times last season and was only saved by injuries.
  8. plenty of footballers leave clubs and are refused contracts without slagging off the club. why are nufc players different?
  9. Well, as always, it has made the papers, local and national. If I were on the verge of signing, I'd be mad not to have second thoughts whether his utterances actually reflected reality or not. Utterly irresponsible, and helps no one. Cheers Jezza. you could say the same about nolan though? and enrique? keegan? hughton even if we get down to the e mail he sent to someone saying how hard they'd made it for him in the last weeks. at what point do you start to think, ok, there may actually be something in it if this many people feel the need to speak out about how bad a job they think those running the club are doing. Honestly, I think we all can see that there is 'something in it', a number of staff and players with either contractual grievences, or have been unceremonialy told to leave the club, have no love for the bosses and no faith that they are willing to invest to take the club forward. However I also see that there are plenty of players and staff who are very happy at the club who will be as annoyed by Bartons muttterings as I am. The thing is, if he came out with the line Jack Wiltshires just trotted out, that we need more investment to kick on, that we need more players, then that would be just as pointed and hard hitting if said often enough as what he is saying now, but without the inarguably large down sides. Can you not see that taking cheap shots at supporters being plants for a certain high street retailer is taking things too far? Can you not see that implying that another departing players grievences are just the tip of the iceberg gives any prospective player who might help push us on pause for thought? Sorry, Dr Venkman, but when Barton shows less sense and decorum than Wiltshire, fuck him. I've always had a good deal of regard for Barton, but he is currently being a massive helmet. can you not see that if no-one puts pressure on ashley, not players, not fans, not ex-professionals connected to the club, no-one. we could easily be facing a situation where he turns the club around so its making a profit and then continues with this policy to keep us in the premier league to help his advertising push and nothing else. and that this could go on for a long, long time? i think the chances of him suddenly finding the will to make us competitive at the level we should be (top 6) are getting ever smaller with every passing transfer window. dont you? Do you think frankly frustratingly vague attacks and digs at critical supporters being spys from sports direct will make a positive difference? I can see only negatives, for Joey, for his colleagues, for the supporters. As for Asley himself changing tack because of it? Not a chance. All anyone can do is continue to ask the questions, where the money is going, where is the striker we need, why can you not persuade Enrique to stay? Keep putting the pressure on Pardew and his bosses. I'm happy for even Joey to do this, but not however for the petulant shite he has spouted recently. i'm not expecting a few tweets from barton to change ashley's mindset, some more widespread pressure however and a bit of with holding cash and we might be rid off him. that's not taking into account the likelihood of ending up with an even worse owner though obviously. i guess i just dont hold much respect for the view that you dont speak your mind because you're likely to upset things. these problems should be sorted at the root imo.

Ah shut up man will you. So what are your thoughts on our never ending search for a striker to compliment Ba Well, as far as im aware, unless you know something I dont, there is still another month to go before the window closes. How about saving it till then? i guarantee you there will be a set of circumstances that are expected to make it absolutely positively understandable that we haven't strengthened the squad any further. and then we'll be 'saving it for january' IIRC Llambias has already used that one. of course he has, i meant we'd be told by certain people to save our anger for january when we can have a proper run at bringing in the players without all these obstacles (fees) in the way

  12. We have that already though, unless we get an exceptionally high number of injuries. Don't get me wrong, I want more and better signings as well, I just don't think our current situation is as terrible as people think. it's not terrible, it's stupid.

I think most people understand that what's going on behind the scenes is crap, but this is massively counter productive. What's the point of further dividing the fans on something like Twitter when we already face a difficult season ahead without this crap going on? to use your words, what's the point of settling for our club being run 'crap'? there's far too much apathy setting in imo, i read and hear more and more about how we're only nufc and we're outside the top 6 so this is all we can hope for etc etc. our club is being turned into primarily an advertising revenue for someone who's shown a lack of respect for the club since day 1. there is no ambition to do anything other than stay in the league and be on telly. I take the point that what barton is saying could be unsettling for the squad, but either they already know the circumstances in which case him saying this isnt gonna make any difference? or he's over doing it in which case the squad wont listen to him and there wont be any unsettling, no? there's so many people blowing the whistle on ashley now and yet it seems it's still the individuals criticising who are in the wrong or at it for their own reasons? i really dont understand the logic. meanwhile, we're on course (at the moment) to make another profit in a transfer window where we needed and were promised important spending for the short term future of the club.

  16. It's post 2013 I think most people are thinking about, where I can't see him offering much to the side, and still have 2-3 years to go. Pretty f***ing stupid to offer him, discuss at length and shake on a new deal in the first place then. Cynics would say it got the best out of him this season and used it as bait I guess. or that it had nothing to do with his form at all, and that his form was just down to him having the quality, commitment and a little bit of luck
  17. I appreciate they've had plenty of shit back at times. Although, to be fair, it has usually been in response to them doing something heinous (Ashley and Mort were treat like heroes back at the beginning and they fucking lapped it up). However, it just narks me how we should be having a fantastic time and building something special here with what is/was a very good core group of players/professionals and we're still tripping over our feet because of their attitude. I don't understand why the fuck he bought us, basically. He's never shown any real ambition at all to make a success of things. this will more than likely be baulked at, but notice the ever increasing sports direct advertising. it would have cost him more than the original purchase price for that kind of advertising space over ten years. none of this is surprising obviously. just cant wait until he fucks off.

Something that really, really shouldn't be skipped over. The Nolan argument has been done to death but the fact is, we've sold our top scorer and replaced him with someone who's never played in the division. Hopefully the addition of two new strikers (and HBA) will compensate, and our style of football won't rely on a limited, but potent, centre-mid. There's no wrong in being optimistic about the players signed. Ignoring the £35m issue, the squad has filled out and it looks technically better/quicker. But there's still so much up in the air. The absolute pisstake of a pre-season tour only adds to the uncertainty surrounding team chemisty, given we haven't had a chance to play our best team. What's frustrating is that come Christmas, we'll have been held back by no-one but ourselves. Thanks in part to a garbage pre-season and, more pressingly, the frugality displayed by the owners. There's every chance we'll finish 2011 in a reasonable position in the table, but everyone from the top down will know it could've been more. The same will probably apply to May as well, given the inflation that goes on in January. The squad looks better than last season but there's still some gaping holes imo, all of which are exacerbated by the fact we are in a position to fill them. great post

Colocho's solution is to spread these unfounded rumours around as much as possible. Cannot believe he represents me in anything. This will happen behind the scenes, and if true, the club will need to keep it as quiet as possible. We know this is just a rumour, but what if it is true? Would it be better to put our fingers in our ears and do nothing? I personally believe that publicising these rumours, having people speak out against such plans - whilst contacting the club, seeing where they stand is the most proactive route to take. For arguments sake, lets say the rumours are true. Once it is up, they’ll say its not financially plausible to take it down. We need to get some more information about this installation and enough voices together to urge the club not to go ahead with it (if there are such plans). What would you do? What would you do? if i was serious about wanting to get rid of ashley i'd try and bring about a situation whereby his tenure isnt possible anymore and he has no choice but to sell at a massive loss and leave. the only way that will happen is if revenue is stopped, the only way fans could do that is by not paying for anything, and it's not gonna happen.

  21. He's a nice squad player. Our midfield got much more creativity now too, so at last he'll get some passes behind the defense. Also he's earning peanuts compared to Smith and Xisco. It's the latter two that we need to get rid of. yeah lets turn down bids for shite because we cant get rid of even more expensive shite
  22. at the minute i think it would work perfectly, as it would have for most of last season too.
