  1. Fabiano has the weirdest eyes ever. He looks like the demons off Supernatural.
  2. Hansen is cool as fuck though. I fucking hate it when Hansen and Seedorf are on together, it's like a competition to see who can speak the slowest and come across as being the most laid back.
  3. When did Mexico emigrate down south like? Don't question me when I'm slating Titsley.
  4. "Well... When did you last watch a football match between two South American teams?"... Erm, last night?
  5. I don't mind Lee Dixon. He seems more clued up on the foreign players than the rest of the BBC team.
  6. Is he on the wing? Looking at that team, he could be playing in the Melo position alongside Gilberto Silva. Can't see Ramires functioning very well as a DM.
  7. "The Italy match against Slovakia nearly went to Extra Time"... Err... What?
  8. Chile will give Brazil a game like. Probably don't have enough in the tank to beat them, but it won't be one way traffic.
  9. He said "it could knock you out", referring to the cat. Jokingly. Were you pricedoutofsenseofhumour too?
  10. It didn't look like it was over the line.
  11. Apparently they "played out the draw" according to ITV's stellar commentary team. Must have missed Chile's equaliser.
  12. Was thinking that myself earlier. This second round could well see a new world order established with the progression of USA and Japan and old countries like France and Italy spinning out of the first round. Loving the volatility of this tournament...so unpredictable in many ways. Hmm... I think the Italians will be back on form in the next Euros. If Lippi had called up some of the more on-form players this year (Miccoli, Cassano, Totti, etc.) instead of his old favourites, they wouldn't have been out at the group stage. Losing Cannavaro, great a player as he has been, will be a blessing in disguise too -- he simply can't play alongside Chiellini, from what I've seen of Juventus and Italy over the last 18 months; individually great defenders, but too similar to compliment one another.
  13. Capello should be a good enough manager to know how to stop Messi. Even Rehagel with his bloody bad team could stop Messi. Inter kept him quiet for 2 x 90 mins as well. Messi shouldn't be the problem. And if he isn't the problem anymore, there won't be any problem left. ... Apart from Higuain, Di Maria, Tevez, Aguero, Milito and the rest of the potential match-winners in their squad... But if THEY aren't a problem anymore, we're laughing.
  14. This Italian side on the pitch now are worthy of going through... Lippi deserves to go out. His team selection and tactics have been terrible.
  15. Yeah. You don't mind the Italians doing it, it's part of their job. Tedious as fuck when the other team does it as well though.
  16. You've gotta love the total over-confidence after we put on a decent performance and won 1-0 against a slow, talentless and basically shit Slovenia side... The BBC pundits were correct (for once) yesterday when they said: "in England, you're either rubbish or brilliant". There's no way we're going to hammer this German side - who aren't great themselves by the way, so they're not going to thump us either, but they're certainly no mugs and will be far more potent with Klose back up front, having missed him for the last two matches. It will be a tight match and will probably be won by one goal either way.
  17. Argy - Brazil final. I'm not sure about Argentina yet tbh. Greece more or less nullified them today, and if they'd had anyone worth a fuck up front they could have done them on the break a couple of times. I can see them getting picked off when they meet a good side tbh. They were 7 men short of their best team... When Di Maria came on and they had some natural width they started to pick through the Greeks much more frequently. I'd imagine much of it was the Greeks knowing they probably had to score to go through though. True enough it wasn't their best 11, but to me they've looked dodgy at the back in all their games thus far. I agree about their defence, but I think they're sort of similar to a team like Barcelona, where their best attacking line-up is usually going to render any defensive problems redundant anyway because they're so good at keeping the ball out of their half. As for the Greeks, I think they would have settled for a 1-0 defeat. They had no intention of trying to score a goal.

  19. That's why he's hilarious! I like how everything he says starts with "And let. Me. Tell. Yer." or a rough equivalent.
  20. No, it's pretty end to end. Good game so far.
  21. Like D) and E), F) Refers to goals scored in matches between the teams in stalemate. It can only come into effect if there are three teams involved.
  22. Portugal won't get a sniff if Brazil put out a full strength team. They only ever concede goals when they're comfortable and lose concentration.
  23. Delighted he missed that. If he scored Bright would have been even more fucking insufferable than ever.
