If we did agree to 40 million obligation for Phillips, that would be 75 million of the summer budget gone already. That may well be in their thinking.

No one called out realism for negativity, the post said we would struggle for transformative signings if we don’t get Europe and have a poor end to the season. However the counter argument for that is our two best transfer windows under these owners came when we where in the relegation zone, and then the following summer when not in Europe. Fair argument surely ?

Think it’s quite achievable if we shop in the foreign market tbh, loads of talent out there.

But we have already had arguably or best windows without European football.

We signed Bruno and Trippier when we where second bottom and Botman and Isak the following summer without any European football.

The article says City want a 5 million loan fee for Phillips, and an obligation to buy included for close to 40 million. I hope we don’t do it for that price tbh.
