Like I said it wasn’t a massive criticism, and I’m not pretending to know a great deal about the finances. I’m just saying I would have rather spent say the Pope money on trying to increase the Maddison bid as I feel that would have benefited us more this season.

Yet again if we pay in instalments or all at once it all counts the same towards FFP.

The only slight issue I would have would be bringing in Pope and then not having enough left to fill the 2 most important positions. Not a knock on Pope, just feel we could have managed with Dubs another season, whereas we can’t manage with our current attacking player’s.

His numbers for Chelsea haven’t even been that bad tbh, particularly as he has been in and out the side and started his career there under Lampard. He would be an absolute dream signing.

Well he has two options, keep the same wage and stay at Chelsea, or take a wage cut to leave. No other club is going to match his current wage.

It does but according the press, Fofana is trying to force a move now.

I mean technically the report is bollocks because every play is available at the right price.

At this stage if we can’t land our top targets, I wouldn’t be against us looking at 2 loans and saving the rest of the budget tbh. There are some good deals to be had out there that would improve the squad and help us into a position where we can then go for the better targets again.

Yeah only Werner is the one who isn’t in the bracket of young development types you mention.

Yeah RW was always the priority and I do think we will get one. I agree regarding we are a Wilson injury away from struggling up top again. That’s why I think Werner would be ideal as he plays both positions.

I’ll go for Dennis (can cover out wide and upfront), and someone we haven’t heard about yet.
