  1. Just wondered if that would be a sticking point in him agreeing to come back, as most reports seem to agree that we are going to be employing a director of football.
  2. Has Rafa worked with a director of football previously?
  3. Everything started to click at the end of last season and culminated in that Fulham game. We looked ready to really kick on with a bit of investment. Just think what he would do with a bit of backing.
  4. I think a lot would depend on the director of football assuming we do get one. They tend to stick to the leagues they have previously worked in and I think that is where we would do the bulk of our spending.
  5. So we are getting relegated next season then.
  6. Still don’t think they don’t have a target, I just think they won’t have told anyone who it is.
  7. So from Caulkins tweets a few days ago, they have been given a nod to suggest the tests have/will be passed, and that official confirmation should come next week. Of course that gives the weekend for a host of letters to be written to delay this again.
  8. Would Ashley’s side have been been unofficially told it’s passed ?
  9. Jordan Ibe would be a horrific signing
  10. Lot of words there to say absolutely fuck all. No one would have told him if they had anyways.
  11. Staveley went to them with the idea and they have seemingly bought into it. She must have told them things they liked.
  12. Watched that soccer box with Gerrard last night and Neville asked him about Rafa. He said at first he didn’t really like him because man management wise he was the opposite of Houllier who was like a father figure. He said Rafa was always critical and never really praised him, but then it clicked in him all the stuff he was telling him to do and he credits him with turning him in to the player he was.
  13. Think a lot would depend on the director of football they bring in, they tend to buy from the leagues they know.
  14. Worth bearing in mind Neil Custis said it was delayed a few hours ago so he must have heard something pretty concrete to write this.
  15. because the premier league is a members club and everyone has an equal say on things (hence the problems in deciding anything about how a restart will work) Yeah but they don’t get a say in who owns another club surely. maybe not a direct say (I have no idea how they run things) but to pretend having some clubs expressing concerns or whatever would have no influence on the process is naive. Doubt its much out of concern of oh no super rich dude is coming in and more negative pr from being even remotely associated with SA and the piracy issue They would have to have legal reasons still to block it and as far as we know they haven’t so I’m guessing this will all still be irrelevant.
  16. It means clubs would then have a say on who clubs buy and sell and appoint as manager.
