I used to rate Rodgers but his signings at Liverpool were pretty w***. His passing philosophy went out the window when he ended up replacing Suarez with Benteke. They spent a shitload at Liverpool to get nowhere during his tenure. Still I suppose we've done the same and are in danger of relegation.
I'm not a big fan either but since he left he has said in several interviews he had nothing to do with the majority of signings.
Redknapp would have a better chance of having a positive impact in the short space of time.
Rodgers would be a more long term appointment albeit a poor one.
We are guaranteed a scrappy win here just to keep this clown in the job just that little bit longer.
If we somehow get beat and Norwich beat Villa, then thats us done.
We're in massive trouble then, relying on a striker not match fit and not proven in this league to score enough goals to keep us up, meanwhile somehow hoping our defence has a ability transplant and stops shipping goals.
Even though his contract is up in 18 months? Surely take a fantastic offer and rebuild your squad?
This on the assumption we were a normal club with a functioning chairman.
Assuming we have Doumbia and considering we have spent quite a lot already, I see no reason why we would be bidding for him if we had no indication they would be willing to sell to us.
Obviously there is a lot of talk on here about fake bids, or " we tried" but in this instance it doesn't fit. We must have had positive signs from both WBA and Berahino.
