  1. What a decision to make Nolan my fantasy captain!
  2. They can, but i wouldn't play them both. Both of them can't play 4-3-3 and be happy, so for me it is one or the other. Also lessens our lack of depth in the striker position.
  3. Should be Krul Simpson Colo Taylor Santon Cabaye Anita Jonas Benny Marv Ba or Cisse Got a feeling if we do somehow go 4-3-3, Obertan will be in instead of Marv.
  4. Come on Fulham, for my fantasty team purposes goals from Hangeland, and Nolan.
  5. He has just been released on a free.
  6. By that he means someone could still leave.
  7. Just realised Arsenal are still very quiet.
  8. Exactly, they will dissapointed with the lack of activity. Aye just like last summer when we failed to replace Carroll and that excuse was no doubt laughably used then only for us to go unbeaten for 11 games or whatever......... We signed Ba. So the club and manager never once made any reference to the fact we would reinvest the Carroll money for another striker to replace him? Ba isnt an answer ffs considering that Cisse was the eventual replacement. The money was invested in all areas though, this time we have done nothing in the key areas we needed. Stop ignoring the point. The club and Pardew made endless statements about replacing Carroll and this forum wasnt happy we didnt. Pardew certainly did yes, we certainly got lucky with it, and made a great start, which in turn led to a great season. That doesn't mean it will work the same again, the league on a whole has gotten alot stronger. That wasnt the point you made. You said they would be upset at the summer transfers/lack of ambition when its rubbish to suggest it. The fact the previous summer had a similar thing(and after the Carroll sale for that matter) and we got on with it like normal adults says far more than your amateur psychology There certainly was a reaction after the Carroll sale, Barton and Nolan both questioned the club, and the best LB we ever had at the club left for Liverpool in the summer questioning our ambition. The game after Carroll left was one of the worst in recent seasons in a spineless display against fulham, we then went 4-0 down to Arsenal, and somehow came back. Pardew openly admitted that in both of them games the players were down after Carroll had left. Last summer despite not replacing Carroll directly, the squad was well strengthened. Again the POINT being that people made the same ambition argument and nothing bad happened last season. Best to walk away from you, clearly on a wind up I am saying that we showed enough ambition in the signings we made last summer, this summer have handing out new contracts to Colo and Krul as well as the signing of Cisse in January, we have failed to show ambition. You can't comare the two summers anyway, last summer we had no real hopes of achieving anything, this summer we had a real chance to push on for the top 4 and a good run in europe. The lack of ambition this summer is certainly more evident than last.

  14. Dear God Strike When signing on, or signing new contracts, our top players would have been promised that we had ambition and goals to improve the squad year on year, this window says the exact opposite. Please just stop ffs Great argument. There wasnt a need for one, you are acting like Ashley has kidnapped their kids not failed to add a few players. Of course they wont be a negative reaction from the players. So if you have been promised ambition by the club to sign on, and got nothing in return in the end you would be happy?

  17. What an absolute load of rubbish. Why? We're playing Aston Villa who aren't having the best of time themselves. We have more than enough quality in our first 11 to finish them off and we will. Stop being so negative man. We do have enough quality, but there have been no signs of it so far, i just think there will be a negative feeling around the place come sunday. There will if it's full of characters like yourself. Your in luck, im not going.

  20. Getting sick of reading this now. We've had since February. Right. All that means is that the reason isn't lack of time. "If you can't do your business in the summer, then I don't know why because there is plenty of time." I don't know why you posted that quote, or who it's from. It's from Pardew.
  21. I think you'll be reading far too much into it. They're professional footballers, not fans. So your telling me that our best players won't see this window as a failure?
  22. Shola would be the one player in the squad who will be happy with the window, he is now somehow our 3rd choice striker.
  23. If you're arguing that Anita isn't as good as Guthrie you might be onto a loser there man. I'm saying he has to prove it, if you think he doesn't then your wrong. Well he's been a regular for Ajax, one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Danny Guthrie is a 'decent squad player' but he never had any potential beyond that. I just don't see how Anita v Guthrie can add anything to your argument, if you're trying to prove our midfield is worse than before. At this moment in time it is worse, because we don't know how Anita will settle or play for us. We knew we could rely on Guthrie, Anita may well flop.
