This is horrible, has to said we look like a sunday pub team atm.

I tend to agree thagt he could make the difference, just too late now though to pin any hope on him turning us around, we have to hope for the likes of Guthrie and Nolan to begin to step up to the plate and getting that midfield ticking.

Exactly and this is something a lot of people are simply missing the point with and trying to cite Harpers goal kicks as balancing this out is ludicrous tbh. Losing over 10 mins of the game due to these long throws is shocking.

Yet you opened the thread and posted in it. Because it keeps coming to the freakin top all the time and I was hoping that it had been derailed into an old board v new board conversation

I couldn't give a rats arse about who the best player in the world is right now.

Shearer brought up that point at the end of the game. Goes to show that time wasting is huge and they are nowhere near compensating for it with injury time. Can't remember how many mins he added on at half time, but it was less than 5 mins, he added 5 mins at full time. So that's LESS than the time wasted by delap, not to mention all the other injuries, subs etc that went on in the game.

OK I’ve spent way too long analyzing the fixture lists and the relegation battle. I’ve come to the conclusion that if we win 3 out of the 6 games we have remaining, we will at the very least be relegated on goal difference, but the likelihood is we would stay up. I’ve done the predictor thing on the beeb 3 times over these last few months and each time the same three teams have been relegated Hull, Boro and WBA. It has to be said however that I was optimistic in our results. Crucially for us the title race is very much still on, and hopefully it’ll go down to the wire. If not then those teams playing title contenders in the last game or two: Blackburn, Hull, Mackems and WBA could spring unexpected results. Bolton’s form should be monitored closely, we’ve got to hope that they don’t pack up for their summer holidays early, they’ve got key home games against the Mackems and Hull and travel to Pompey. They could hold the key to who goes down this season. Boro’s run in is on paper the toughest, but their victory at the weekend will give them renewed hope, though it’s difficult to see where they can pick up more than 3 or 4 points. Hull and the Mackems too have difficult run ins. The Mackems fate may well be decided in the next two games against Hull and WBA, their performance against Manure will give them some heart and they are probably favourites to win both those games now. Win our 3 home games and I would be confident that we will stay up, they are all winnable but so many other games were this season that we didn’t win.

They already had an away win, this was their second. They are going to be very tough to beat, especially if they've got an intertoto spot or whatever to shoot for.

After that, a point is a good return, we barely deserved it though and I'm not sure in the whole scheme of things it'll be enough. Need something out of the Spurs game now I feel.

One attempt on target !!!!!
-
Unfortunately Butt's not been the worst player on the pitch, there are many candidates for that role
-
That was just typical of Newcastle. Two very good chances to put a ball into the area and create a chance, andwe end up giving them a chance at the other end.
-
FFS, we've got to get into this game, we are sleepwalking through it
-
Great start to the half
-
I think its time to give up on these players tbh. Drop the lot of them and play the reserves and juniors. They couldnèt possibly do any worse and would show a hell of a lot more fight.
-
Neither one was a penalty, fuck off setanta
-
We canèt defend corners
-
It wasnt even a foul
-
We need half time and not to conceed again.
-
Pathetic defending tbh, even though it was never a corner.
-
If that had hit Taylor, Stoke could have been in huge trouble.
-
Stoke play horrible football, I'm sorry, it's effective though and they fight for everything, very limited side though
-
We've got to get the ball down and play some football. Thge difference in fight between the two sides is amazing. They never give up, we never start.
