  1. Gerrard has to score soon, he's been allowed so many feelers
  2. a Goal for us could be huge, not in terms of this game but the goal difference. I would take a 2-1 loss right now, in a heartbeat.
  3. What was wrong with the second? One of the Liverpool defenders was holding Beye. Beye was just s***, didn't track his man, nothing illegal about it at all. Ask yourself...does that sound like Beye? Watch it again when the ball is delivered (not when Kuyt actually heads the ball in). Beye's a good player but not perfect. Just because it's him doesn't mean it's a foul becuase he can't possibly fuck up. The was some pulling and pushing but, look at the replay, Beye's not even watching his man, he's watching the ball come over. Basic marking really, watch your man first.
  4. What was wrong with the second? One of the Liverpool defenders was holding Beye. Beye was just shit, didn't track his man, nothing illegal about it at all.
  5. I honestly don't know what Shearer can say to them at half time, bollock them and this bunch of spineless crap will buckle still further, encouraging them is a waste of time as they obviously haven't responded in any shape or form in the past. Sorry excuse for a squad of players IMO.
  6. It'll be interesting to see our transfer strategy next season. Suddenly players like Bobby Zamora, Michael Chopra and David Nugent, players we wouldn't want a million miles from the club, become ambitious targets for us. Are we gonna just bring in a bunch of free transefers hasbeens and loan signings or are we going to put our faith in youth and continue to pick up promising youngsters from abroad ? I guess we'll probably end up with a mixture of both, but a lot will depend on who is in charge. JFK masterminded a summer transfer window is scaring the shit out of me.
  7. The only thing I hope for is that come the start of the 2010 season, Owen is not on our player staff. The Owen experiment has failed and I for one will not be shedding too many tears if he packs up his helicopter and departs for good.
  8. FFS the lad can't even get in the Doncaster team, what he's managed 47 mins of play time during his loan stint, yet he's going to save our season ? Give me some of what you've been smoking.
  9. Our season's been all about wasted opportunities. Yes of course there is a chance that we can stay up, but that will take a complete shift in application from the players. They've failed to take almost all our opportunities that have been presented to us. We need a trigger to instill some belief and confidence in the players, like the Brum away game last year, could that be scraping a point at Liverpool ?
  10. Without a shadow of a doubt, we are truely hated. We're thick, deluded, impatient fans, who only turned up recently (did you know we only had gates of 5,000 befroe KK arrived for the first time). We are not a big club, but we think we are. The fans deserve to go down. That's basically it, can we do anything about it ? Can we do anything to improve our image ? Probably not, those opinions are formed they won't go away overnight. We a laughing stock right now, and they are loving it. At least relegation should bring less focus upon us next season, and perhaps that'll mean other fans move on to the next object of hate. Spurs are lucky we are there because it could so easily have been them.

Hull play Stoke at home. Stoke have won 1 game all season away from home. They are not the same team. Stoke also have absolutely nothing to play for. I would be shocked if Hull dic not pick up at least a point from that game. But when was the last time Hull won at home? They couldn't even beat us for god's sake. I watched the whole of their game against Liverpool and they played pretty well. But for some stupidity by their striker they could have got something out of that one. Anyway your question was why is relegation threatened Soke V Newcastle tougher that Hull V safe as houses Stoke. Stoke are very much like Wimbledon used to be in being strong at home and fairly weak away. Everything is set up for them at home they have narrowed the pitch and a very loud and vocal crowd. That game was always gonna be tough for us and we did very well to get a point from it. Stoke are now in no danger of being relegated, yes there is still prize money to be up for grabs and their manager will no doubt bang on about the need to stay focused for the remaining games. But when you build you team around the need to go out there and put every ounce of effort in to perform beyond their skill, it's only natural for those players to feel entitled to a break and mentally turn it down a notch or two. I happen to think Hull v Stoke ranks up alongside NUFC v Boro as being the most important game of the season for us. Hull win that and it could be curtains for us, they get a point and we somehow need to find 4 more points, that's a point a game, out of our final fixtures. Better hope for 4 0-0's because we don't look even remotely likly to score another goal this season.

Boro's form has picked up a little lately. They've won one game drawn another and played much better in recent losses. That might not sound much but when compared to us they sound like world beaters. The game is by no means a easy 3 points for us.

I tend to agree. This group of players deserves nothing more than relegation, unfortunately the bulk of the starting 11 yesterday will not be playing championship football next year, as their past reputations will buy them a move to a PL club.

agreed about the Hull-Stoke game, stoke are safe and will take their foot off the pedal, hull are huge favourites for that game imo. i think Hull will get 3 or 4 points more than they have now so we need 6 or 7 and atm thta looks like it is asking too much. What about Sunderland like? They have a home game against a team in the cup final who to a man will be terrified of getting injured having seen what happened to Jagielka, 2 away games against teams who will be safe, and a home game against a side who may have 2 finals to come. They'll get the points if they need them. West Brom beat them 3:0. What frame of mind each team will be in when they play them is conjecture, but what is fact is that Sunderland are f***ing terrible. As bad or worse then us and their remaining fixtures make grim reading. I definitely think they're in at least as bad a position as Hull, if not worse. Although I agree that Sunderland are as bad if not worse than us, the cold hard fact is they are 4 pts ahead of us, the way we are playing 4 pts is a hell of a long way away and circumstances have comspired to give them an excellent chance to extend that lead.

  16. I remember the feeling the last time we went down. Obviously I was gutted however when those initial feelings had gone, I was very excited at the thought that we would win on a regular basis again, in the lower division. I had got fed up of being beat, week in and week out. Obviously relegation will be disasterous for us when it happens, what's important though is for the club and the fans to not dwell on it for too long and get on with planning for hopefully coming back up at the first time of asking (which correct me if I'm wrong would be the first time we've done that in our history). Of course there should be an inquest into what went wrong this season, but my hope will be that that is completed quick and decesive action is taken to ensure we hit the ground running in planning for the fizzy pop league.

Although our run in on paper looks the best out of the bottom 5, barring perhaps the Villa away game last day of the season, we have no games in which the opposition has nothing to play for. While as the others do. This could have a huge bearing on our fate. I'm trying to stay positive but reality keeps nudging me and tells me that we are fucked and only a miracle can save us now.

Asolutely spot on, 37 pts and our GD will be hard to beat, just how they hell are we gonna win matches when we can't score.
  19. Not sure yet if this is a "must not get beat" game, we'll know better after the games on Saturday. But a point out of this one could be absolutely huge.
  20. I feel kind of numb right now. I'm dreading the next few games, where do we go from here ? I felt sure the players would respond to Shearer when he came in but it's clear that they are just beyond help. They are a sorry bunch who don't deserve to be playing in the Premiership, unfortunately the main culprits probably will next season as their reputations will buy them a move to top flight club. The only people that will be hurt by this are the fans and they despite what that lunatic above posted don't deserve it.
  21. Absolutely need to hang on for a point, a loss puts us down without a shadow of a doubt, a point gives us a slim chance of avoinding the inevitable.
