A name that has been mentioned a while ago that has come up again recently is Botman's former teammate at Lille Tiago Djalo. Same age as Botman is, but a speedier more athletic player, and so complements Botman nicely. Contract is up in June of next year and we are being rumoured to move for him in January.

Yeah that's him.

Was still quite young when they bought him, and with the change in manager, seems to have got lost in the shuffle.

Looks like he is starting to get more opportunities this season though.

Think he's so talented and they should have used him far more by now. Would love to nick him off them.

Unreal skill and technique and facilitates things from that deeper position in a similar way to Bruno. Better athlete though.

He has had a big injurynin his young career and is still working his way back to regular football.

Huge credit to Bournemouth. They played a great game. Cup final levels of energy and a great, well executed game plan. Great tenacity from them.

 

Newcastle were down to bare bones. Didn't have the players in the middle to control the tempo of the game.

 

We have been really good at replacing players and retaining our identity but Bruno was one step too far. Longstaff looked like pre-Bruno Longstaff without him.

 

Hopefully we get players back soon. No need to panic. Would have been a great bonus to get anything out of today with the fitness of the squad. Lots of reasons to remain cheerful.

Yeah.

Key learning today for me would be not to play Joelinton upfront. Ended up hurting our build up play and we also then missed his presence in the middle or his more useful play on the left.

We'll be perfectly fine. Like the potential urgency this also places on what we look to do this January. Even if we can only loan players in.
