I mean you're pretty consistently one of the most emotional people on here

Don't start shuffling and changing subjects.

We were talking about over reacting to the players and team after results.

If anything more often than not I complain about people doing that, rather than doing it myself.

And so you were just flat out wrong on whatever point you were trying to make by bringing up the West Ham game.

Next time read the previous posts properly.

Spurs are pure comedy, if I was a top coach i'd think very carefully about going anywhere near this gutless shit show

    It's all coming up Brendan.

He’s an absolute threat with his his physical tools, definitely gives CBs a hard time.

Absolutely. He's a bit of an Antonio type, when Antonio is on it and scoring goals.

If West Ham had got him in over the summer instead of Scammacca, he would have suited Moyes to a tee, and they would have been much better off.

    Awoninyi the goat

Like I said last week, when someone on here said he was 'awful', he's not always the prettiest on the eye, but he is a presence and gets goals.

Looks like he will keep them up. Had he not had that injury layoff they may have already been fine by now.

He can be dodgy sometimes, sure.

The positives far, far outweigh the negatives with him though. He has been the most effective build up player in the league behind KdB this season. Take that out of the team for a better defender (Dumfries is not a better defender at all) and you lose so much more than you gain.

There is a clear hole in the system when Longstaff isn’t playing as you’ve said. The midfield basically didn’t exist in defensive transitions today and it was the same against both Villa and Arsenal.

    Yeah I think that's a fair assessment.

To be fair I did say he should be more situational next season in one of my other posts.

If we are missing someone that can cover sufficiently for him then maybe we sit him next season in those instances.

Dumfries maybe isn't the answer if he isn't that good defensively, but I wouldn't mind seeing someone with his physicality and speed that can defend better, who can come in on that side and be another option.

I think there's a lot that was poor today that can be fairly discussed tbh.

I'm usually not one to "bed wet" if you will, but today's performance was poor, and I'm actually relieved we got a point.

I think sometimes the histrionics aren't really warranted and are not really backed up sufficiently, but we were not good today, and a lot of the issues being raised have been quite fair.

Calling them bottlers or mentally weak is harsh though, and not necessary. They did struggle to match Leeds intensity and the Hippo's disgusting approach, which was really annoying.

I do love it when people judge players on a snap shot of the last game or two, ignoring the rest of the season. Trippier being a case in point.

Trippier mostly offers us stuff going forward in general play, IMO.

His set pieces have been very hit and miss of late, but even that is not necessarily the biggest deal.

Defensively though, always worried about him if he gets isolated against someone running at him, or if the ball is delivered from the opposite side and he has to pick up an attacker at the back post.

Longstaff and Almiron help him out a lot when we are defending, and Longstaff being out of late makes us look very shaky down that side.

this is absolute madness imo. He has been incredible this season in all kinds of games.

Trippier is dodgy defensively man. I'm not just saying it for the fun of it.

I'm not sure how you're not seeing it when watching all these games this season.

Almiron and Longstaff have often made his life a lot easier down that right hand side.

Longstaff being out recently has really exposed the issue more of late.

That game had fat Sams stench all over it the anti football cunt.

Was desperate to win this one today.

Sick of all the fuss being made about this guy man.

Completely rooting for Leeds to go down now, don't want this despicable mess staying on and continuing in the Prem with them.

I think he's just worn out. Has played way too much this season and he has suffered for it.

Hope we get a right back in that can start at a high level. There have been links to Dumfries but no idea how true those rumours are, but would like to see someone of that ilk come in on that side.

I think we need a new RB in the summer. I do not want to see Trippier starting every week next season.

Biggest takeaway from this game for me.

Trippier has to be a situational player next season.

Only to be used against teams that are not very physical and do not have someone very quick and tricky on his side.

He's really small, quite slow and not very physical. He's been brilliant on the whole this season, but against the wrong kind of team or player he is a liability defensively.

In addition to this I also somewhat feel the same about Amiron too. Has to be a squad player next season, to be brought in against the right kind of opponent. Kept looking to fall over and gesture to the ref every time he was challenged, which only emboldened Leeds and made our play more and more disjointed.

Trippier and Almiron today were very very disappointing, and it was often the undercurrent to a lot of our play getting spoiled.

  12. Man ... have to be happy with a point after that, because in all honesty, we did not deserve it.

We've let Allardyce show us up today. Got pushed around and bullied by Leeds, which is really embarrassing.

Trippier and Almiron on the right were terrible and couldn't deal with the physicality at all. Willock had some good moments but lacked physicality as well.

They were really up for it, and we wilted. Think Howe made an error in taking off Wilson, as his sly play would have won us free kicks and killed the game once we took the lead.

Ah well, on to the next one. Cannot afford to lose to Brighton now. Going to be an awfully tense finish to the season, which will be really rough.
