  1. Okay, so why can Guthrie not just take all the corners forever and ever? Zoggy and Milner can't get things done at the mo.
  2. We are so much fitter looking under Keegan. Enrique looking good early. Bassong very comfortable on the ball it seems.

    Coventry City (a)

Really like that team funnily enough. I think Jonas will do very well upfront.
  4. Redknapp has lost the plot. He is actually sticking to playing Papa Bouba Diop out on the right. Where the hell he got this absurd idea from I will never know. This has resulted in no service to Crouch and Defoe who can't really create anything for themselves. They look awful.
  5. To think how much ManU have just spent on Hargreaves. On this kind of form Smith against let's not forget a very combative Bolton at their ground laid down the law early on (he talks a lot as well not totally silent like Parker) and never let go of his zone. Fergy had to let him go, but it looks like a mistake.
  6. Hope it's Milner tbh. Could perhaps be Lennon too though?
  7. Stephen Mbia But just what type of a player is he? "I don't see myself as a taller Makelele, even though I think he's a great player," he said. "I see myself more as an Pirlo-type player. Yes, I play in front of the back four, but I like to be a playmaker, to supply the midfielders and strikers who go forward, rather than being defensive-minded." http://www.fifa.com/mensolympic/news/newsid=842364.html I love the sound of that tbh. Exactly the type of DM/Holding midfielder we should be after. Rather than just a destroyer. Would love for someone liek this to come in and replace Butt.
  8. That would be a disaster tbh. If he's worse than Milner then I sincerely hope we don't go anywhere near him.
  9. Skjelbred's a CM. Maybe Kev is going with the same narrow midfield as we had last season. Besides, we have far more wingers than CMs, so we could do with losing Milner. Jonas, Duff, Zoggy and Geremi do a better job than milner out wide. He's kind of expendable right now.
  10. Milner to Villa and Skjelbred in?
  11. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR SUCK! I SAID IT ALL SUMMER! Do it on the pitch you losers. Still a bunch of bottlers. Where are all the Spurs groupies now?! Clear off.
  12. What did I say about Cisse? Tottenham Hotspur the jokes on you!

    Tiago on loan?

Juventus chief Alessio Secco admits Tiago could still move to Everton, despite his public rejection of the Premiership club this week. Secco said: "He has a contract with us and has the right to stay. Let's see if maybe he can change his mind in the next days. The possibility of going to play in the English Championship, where he still is known and has already done so, all things considered, well, is the chance for him to play with continuity. "I think it was, however, an important opportunity for him, in order to improve."

    The nerves are back

Wow. Chill out. It's not a "very important game"and this one game really shouldn't have us worrying about the season being cack if we don't win. The fact is we are still putting our team together due to injuries as well as still trying to get players in. Yes, we are capable of beating Bolton, but they started off the season very well too and will be on a high and as always will be physical and committed. It's certainly not a guaranteed win, and considering everything I wouldn't say it is a game that should be a formality. Yes, we can win it and should aim to do so, but it certainly wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't.

    Tiago on loan?

Quotes from Juve chairman today saying they reached an agreement but he didn't want to move to England..... Que source? SSN. So no actual quotes then? Anyway ... if true then Tiago really is a blockhead.

  17. We only have 3 players out, and already it's a "make do and mend first 11", and if you look at the bench, there's no-one you'd really want to bring on if you needed to change things. I think that shows how thin the squad really is. On average, most teams will have around 5-6 players injured at any time, and unless we strengthen with at least a few more players capable of holding their own in the premiership then we're going to struggle to do much better than last year when we had a fairly injury free year. We can forget trying to get into Europe with the squad we have now IMO unless we're very, very lucky with injuries, and all the new signings maintain their 1st game form. I also really hope we can get someone in who can take a decent free kick from just outside the box, otherwise we're just going to waste loads of good scoring opportunities throughout the season, and as a knock on effect, any team with a manager smart enough to realise we don't pose a threat at free kicks will just send his team out to hack us down outside the area whenever there's any sign of danger. I'd love to have someone in who's a genuine threat on dead balls. As you say it's something we badly miss, both in terms of a direct goal threat and the capacity to make the opposition think. Danny G is looking really good on his set pieces tbf. We just need to ensure Milner stops trying to sneak some in himself as he sucks at it.
  18. £10 million = £30 million in Chelsea money. Poor business in both instances.
  19. £10 million on a 29 year old striker who has never played in the premier league and who might not adjust to it at all. Poor business.

    The nerves are back

Wasn't nervous last week, I predicted a 1 - 1 result at work and won myself some loot! This week I'm not really nervous either, just looking forward to the game. Bolton will be tough, but no matter what we will play the right way and play to win, so we will be in with a very good chance of a result.

    Tiago on loan?

So we have had no quotes from Tiago or his agent saying he would prefer Spain and he doesn't want to come to England. All we have had so far are quotes of him supposedly saying he will not go to Everton. The only other quotes in this saga are from Juve, who said two prem clubs have shown interest. What's to say he hasn't spoken to ourselves and Everton and opted for us? Now that would be funny, as far as the media's cluelessness goes. Not so funny for Everton though. They have had the most unbelievably quiet transfer window I think I have ever witnessed. Sold players and brought none in. Not even a Sibierski. Damn.
  22. Oh without a shadow of a doubt. I am very confident we will be getting in more players who are of a high quality. I think the recruitment team have proved themselves tbh. We will look back on this window as being a really special one I think.
  23. tbf I think Sunderland have made some really good signings this summer. It's all relative. These are good moves for their club. Anyone they approach will now look at their club and at least be familiar with a good number of the players there. Rafa was an absolute idiot when it came to Cisse, and Cisse in particular could be a very good move for them. I think he is at least as good as Darren Bent, who isn't that bad at all. Cisse, Diouf, Malbranque ... that's a solid three players righ there. It's going to be a lot more fun playing, and beating, them and I'm looking forward to it. I'm pretty sure they will beat Tottenham this weekend.
