  1. Arsenal 1 - 0 Remember when people questioned Eduardo as a replacement for Henry?
  2. This club is a freakin' mess ... If we've managed to drive Allardyce to wanting to quit then we have serious problems.
  3. This to me is the advantage of having a foreign manager. Could you imagine an English manager coming in and having the guts to drop someone like Owen for Agbonlahor? It would be so much more difficult in my opinion.
  4. For England Looks like the new England manager will be brave enough to usher in a new era. No more free rides for the big name charlies. Owen looks like he will be the first to get burned. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=505459&in_page_id=1779&ct=5
  5. What happened to Routledge? Might be worth a punt for about £1 million. Have him and we can throw in Tainio if you want? Seriously though, what is the deal with Routledge? He's no worse than Lennon but he doesn't even get a look in. Did he fall out with the club?

  7. Souness was his hero don't you know http://img.search.com/thumb/2/2a/Souness_flag.jpg/300px-Souness_flag.jpg Only because of this. Yup, that's the one
  8. Would love Bentley rather than Diouf but after some of the performances he's put in we'd not get him in a million years. I wanted him after he said he wanted to leave Arsenal as I thought he looked very good the one year he was on loan at Norwich. That ship has sailed though. No way we could get him now. His price would be stupid and to be frank we are not in as good shape as Blackburn are at the moment.

  10. People need to chill out about Zoggy playing at left-back ... I'm pretty certain it is only a temporary thing which was forced upon Sam. If we had succeeded in bringing in an experienced left-back like Silvestre or Dragutinovic, who we both went after, then it wouldn't have been necessary to play Zoggy there. I was never really convinced that Enrique was brought in as a first team left-back, but was instead brought in to be groomed to take over from a more experienced player who we didn't manage to bring in. I think we ought to just accept that Sam feels more comfortable playing Zoggy there at this moment in time, because Zoggy has shown he can fill in at that position and he is familiar with the premiership game. I also think we ought to be encouraged by the fact that Zoggy has played in the position without complaining and has given it his all. He obviously has a lot more respect for this manager than he did the last one, and he seems to have matured quite a bit. The experience of playing at left-back will only make him an even better player in the long run. I would fully expect us to go after an experienced left-back in January and I really hope we are able to bring one in.
  11. The truth is that Emre is still living off his past reputation and those you tube clips. People say our team is so bad that he could never look good in it. How come Solano managed it then? Solano even made an impact and influenced our attacking play playing at right-back for goodness sake! Emre stinks right now and that is the fact of things. Got the start against Wigan and couldn't even do one thing that was of any note. Emre has the ability but something inside him died when Souness was sacked.
  12. Definitely a fitness thing with Emre, and you really can't blame Sam for this. Emre does look like he is carrying too much weight and he has a history of injuries which further suggests his fitness isn't up to scratch. If Emre leaving means we bring in someone like Arshavin to replace him then I'm all for it.
  13. Darren Fletcher ... oh man, don't tempt fate seriously.
  14. I realise thats not the answer you were looking for Certainly not.
  15. Well Joey certainly made the most of his opportunity didn't he ... oddly enough I just feel bad for the dude more than anything, he clearly has some serious issues that he is going to need to address. Anyway, it looks likely that he will have his contract cancelled if found guilty, which is looking nailed on. So, as we will be losing both Faye and Geremi as well for the ACN, we will most certainly need to do something about our midfield. It will most likely have to be experienced players we bring in who aren't too expensive (i.e. not Modric!). What do you think we will do about the position? If there is any truth to the rumour of Albelda from Valencia being made available on a free or for a very small fee then I wouldn't be surprised if Sam tried to bring him in. Sam does have a tendency to bring in experienced players from Spain so it might be a possibility. Other than that I would love to bring in Arsenal's Diarra as well if we can do. He is very affordable and he is familiar with both Zoggy (from their Le Havre days) and Geremi from their Chelsea days. Albelda and Diarra would be a solid move.

    The Mole?

Sam does say a lot of good things when he speaks. I can't help but want to wait to see what happens with him, as long as we aren't dragged into a relegation battle. I am particularly happy to see that he is willing to admit that some of his signings haven't quite worked out. I am not surprised about what he has to say about this supposed mole. This is the kind of thing that is our biggest problem at the moment. There are players in this team that are only concerned with their own agenda and are constantly negative influences who are holding us back. Until we get rid of these sorts of people no manager here will be succesful.
  17. Yeah i'm thinking about it actually. Rozehnal came on at left-back didn't he, i was thinking he came on in a more central area because he'd replaced Smith, i couldn't really tell at the time. I'd be happy to withdraw slatings for this particular substitutions, it was quite sensible really. The Owen/Martins one though was still stupid. Roz came on at left-back to allow Zoggy to go to left midfield, so it was essnetially a positive move on the whole.
  18. I would just like to give myself a pat on the back to make myself feel a bit better about today ... I knew Faye would be a big factor. Please refer to above.
  19. We've had to deal with so many problems over the past couple of weeks. The last thing we needed was for the ugly Owen conundrum to rear it's repulsive head at such a crucial time. Owen is absolutely worthless unless there is another striker who is mobile and/or aggressive beside him. I don't care what anyone says, the Owen substitution blatantly cost us today. Owen's inclusion invited pressure onto us.
  20. I think Owen's lack of pace upfront is what compounds things. Simply had to leave Martins on just so they couldn't push up on us.
  21. Fucking outrageous ... He's four yards offside according to LeTissier!
  22. No one on half way ... We can't utilize Martins pace anymore. This might turn out to be a problem. Tottenham 6 - 4.
