Kanu, Wanchope, Shola. None were exactly prolific

I was just referencing his style of play and some of the players he shared attributes with.

Sadiq was a big talent at youth level for Nigeria and then lost his way, before eventually finding his feet at Partizan where he did really well, and then Almeria brought him in to replace Darwin Nunez who has since exploded at Benfica.

Sadiq has been excellent at Almeria racking up goals and assists, following in Nunez footsteps and arguably doing even better, and so a lot of clubs are taking notice and there appears to be a lot of hype around him, especially with what Nunez has gone on to do since leaving.

Barca strongly considered him as well during the January window, and Sevilla and Valencia are very keen too. Almeria were determined to keep him for the promotion push which looks like it will pay off to be fair to them.

Just looked him up on Brazil Scout on youtube. First thing they do on that channel is listing best attributes and weaknesses.

So, if they are right, he has basically everything going for him. Pace, strength, finishing, areial duals, dribbling, agility, teamwork.

    Weakness - decisions

Seems like he'd be a frustrating player to watch, very much like wor Shola.

Yeah, he definitely has his moments that can be awkward and a bit clumsy, but my goodness is he talented

He has so many different aspects to him that you have to account for and even his awkward moments somehow make him even more unpredictable. Very entertaining player to watch, and the type that would become a cult hero.

  3. Almeria's Umar Sadiq is a name to keep an eye on as far as strikers go. Reports in Nigeria say we are still keen on him after being priced out over the winter.

He is a real handful and really awkward to play against. A crazy mix of Nwankwo Kanu (in some of his holdup, link up and playmaking play), Paulo Wanchope (in some of his leggy, powerful, pacy dribbling runs) and our very own Shola Ameobi (in his powerful stature and sometimes unconventional gait).

Morality has always been each person's own.

Well historically the UK was a Christian nation, and that was the foundation of any kind of moral framework. Nowadays Christians are far more likely to be mocked and taken the piss out of, and so goodness knows where any kind of discussion about morality starts nowadays.

It's all about who has the most power and money and so hey ... there you have it. The Saudis have bought the club because they have all the money, and so if the club is going to benefit from all that, there's no point getting riled up over them having a kit that pays some homage to the country of the owners, because they can do as they please, and we should probably by relieved if that is the extent of what they end up doing. Quite frankly I'm not at all convinced anyone really cares about the stuff they perpetrate over in their country. Other fans just use that as a means to wind up Newcastle fans because they're worried about the football implications of it all. It's all so utterly pathetic.

Saudi shirt is minging. Both in design and morality.

Morality ... such a non existent concept nowadays. Seems to be everyone just makes up their own version of morality from what I can see. The idea at this point is completely ridiculous.

The white with green trim is smart as fuck and works well IMO, it's just in our case it's blindingly obvious why we've got it.

Yeah, it's a lovely gesture to welcome Osimhen to the club.

My God ... giving their body and soul to sign him sounds nuts

I was hoping that they wouldn't go for him if Dembele was staying put, but seems that might not be the case. Oh well ... lets see what happens. Aside from Barca I would like our chances if Leeds go down.

Brazil kit is very on the nose.

Wolves did similar with a Portugal style kit due to all the Portuguese players they had right?

I could see that being a cheeky nod to Bruno and Joe, oh ... and Lodi and Raphinha too of course :D

  9. If Leeds go down we will have a strong chance of getting Raphina due to that £30 million clause, and because of Bruno and Joelinton's influence.

We're definitely looking for a left footed winger for the right side, as Almiron was just not suited for that role.

Tammy is my dream signing this summer, £67m for him seems doable as well. Other clubs will be ahead of us in that race though, he seems to love playing for Jose so maybe he wont even leave this year.

Jose Mourinho has actually come out and said that all Tammy has to do is say that he wants to return to England and he will let him leave, because Tammy placed so much faith in him by leaving home, and his country of birth and trusted him when joining Roma. And so it won't be that difficult a move if the price for him is met.

I think the problem is going to be the calibre of clubs that will be looking at him now as he has been incredible at Roma, and is still only 24 years old.

Did you see that header he scored at the weekend? My god it was a thing of beauty.

The man is such a talented striker man. Monster header that was.

It's so ironic because he fits Tuchel's approach so much more than Lukaku does when you think about it, as he has the work rate and endless energy required.

  12. Roma looking for £67.5 million for Tammy Abraham.

So many clubs flopped when it came to Tammy man, Chelsea included by the way. Clubs missing out on him for £36 million last year was tragic. He wanted to go to Arsenal last summer apparently and they bottled it. They are apparently considering him for this summer now.

In hindsight Chelsea letting both Tammy and Tomori leave last summer was so poor.

From the little I've seen on YouTube he seems to pop up in the box an awful lot for someone listed as a DM - seems to be almost playing the role Bruno has been for us, rather than just sitting in the centre circle breaking up play and recycling possession.

Looking at his clips at PSV he does seem to be playing as a holding midfielder/DM but a very dynamic one that will run into any space available in front of him and also joins in on counter attacks. Really like the look of him and could be a nice addition to the midfield alongside Bruno. His break down on whoscored shows he has mostly played in DM and his player characteristics look fantastic.

    Still not convinced on Nketiah.

He looks like an average PL striker playing with a few good attacking players. 3 of the goals I've seen him score this season have been from absolute howlers... or against Sunderland, which doesn't count.

Think he's one of the best forwards in the league when it comes to pressing, and it paid off for him today. I'm giving him full credit for that goal.

I really like his pace, the runs he makes off the ball, his direct running with the ball and he has improved massively at dropping off and linking play as I think he has gotten a stronger the last year or so as he has matured a bit more physically.

In the England youth teams he was known for his lethal finishing, and so I think once he gets the kind of consistent playing time and the confidence that comes from that, the finishing will still be there.

Could see him developing into a Jermaine Defoe type striker.

I reckon Nketiah will stay at Arsenal now

Yeah, probably. He looks really good since his run in the first team, and seems to fit well with the other young players emerging at Arsenal.

Depends on whether they are already fully committed to bringing in a higher profile striker for the first team, as I think Nketiah wants to now be playing a lot more going forward, and they haven't been willing to guarantee him that.

Really like the look of him. Think he is so talented. I can see him coming along the way both Maddison and Grealish eventually did.

Keane Lewis-Potter, Elijah Adebayo, Brennan Johnson, Ben Brereton Diaz, Fabio Carvalho, Antoine Semenyo .... quite a few really exciting young talents in the Championship. Would be cool if we could pick up at least a couple of them.
