Clean sheet with Lascelles in the back line has gone somewhat under the radar. Can Howe resurrect his career here or is he destined for departure?
Just not good enough with the ball, and still looks super dodgy defending in a high line. Should be able to get pretty decent money for him from a more defensive minded type team, so should look to move him on I think.

Who's shouting for Joe to press before Krul loses it?
Nvm clearly Eddie.
Yeah, noticed that too. Great to see it pay off immediately as it played a part in Krul's poor pass.

Nagelsman absolutely loved the guy, and so I just could not accept that he was as bad as he looked under Bruce. Terrifying how important a good manager is, and thank God the new owners got that call right straightaway with Howe.
Going from Nagelsman to Steve Bruce must have been an absolute nightmare for him, which of course meant going from pressing high up the pitch and playing more of a possession game with lots of support around him high up the pitch, to sitting deep and being upfront alone and isolated from the other 10 players who were camped out in their own box.
He's in a team and style of play much better suited to him now and he is just going to keep playing well and getting better, as he has the hunger, desire and work ethic to do so. Takeover was so massive for the guy. Crazy stuff.

Some muppet in the media was killing the new owners at the time for not getting in Gerrard instead of Howe. Love it!

The joy on everyone's face in that photo man. Surely, this isn't Newcastle United?! Still can't believe it

Absolute fucking miracle worker. The way he's turned players like Krafth and the Joe around is a testament to how good this guy is.
Fully exposing Bruce as well. He's adding millions to players' value, while Bruce was doing the opposite in tanking the value of all of our players.

All the Brazilians going mental today ... Gabby Jesus gets a fourth for Man City.

The fact that he didn't slip and fall on his face while trying to score the first goal tells you everything about how this guy has changed
So much confidence with him now due to his performances this season, and I think his country man Bruno coming in has given him an additional boost now too.
God I hope he makes the Brazil team for the World Cup. Would be the final piece to his great turn around.

That interchange between Murphy and Krafth on the right hand side leading up to the first goal was sensational. Wew ...

Isn't this where Joe played in Germany?
Nagelsman used him in a variety of roles, up top, wide forward, and sometimes in behind one striker and also in behind two strikers. He's now added central midfield to his box of tricks this season. Such a valuable, versatile player.

Sickens me when Kaka is right about anything.
Just so happy for Joe. Just knew with the confidence he's built up this season he'd do well even further forward.
Imagine how bad all of this is making that cretin Bruce look though man. My God

He didn't score until he moved to the left
I'll take it still man! Thrilled for him!

Absolute stroke of genius by Eddie yet again ... if Joelinton starts getting confidence in his finishing it is over man. Guy is turning into a monster!
-
I said he'd score a couple today! Fakin' ell!

All the moaning about big Joe playing up top today
He's a different man altogether nowadays, so chuffed for him. Such a mental turn around.
-
I fucking knew it man. Get in big Joe!

Think he'll be asked to drop deep and link up with runners from wings and midfield. Hope so anyway because even a confident Joe can't really finish
Yeah, probably will play more of a deep lying striker role, which I think suits him, and he can then look to release ASM and Murphy. Should be interesting.

Hopefully you’re right. The issue isn’t the goals or Wood it’s more taking Joelinton out of the midfield for a much inferior Longstaff. Hopefully they both score and prove me wrong!Hey, it will be really interesting that's for sure.
It's a really good chance for the management to have more of a look at certain players going into next season now, and some of the others really could do with a rest.
Considering what Howe has been able to get out of someone like Krafth, we just have to let the man get on with it, he's been brilliant.

Don't get all this Lascelles hate like. Every player was shite under Bruce, Shelvey, Krafth, Joelinton and they all look like different players.
Lascelles made a mistake against Everton and instantly made up with a goal.
Yet he gets instantly written off today? Like he might play awful today but I'd imagine if he was that shit Howe wouldn't have started him
Yeah, I mean Schar and Burn have had a great run together, and with things looking safe, why not give Lascelles a run out. Think he's handled his benching well, and so let him get a game and give Schar a bit of a rest.

Seriously what the hell is the point
As soon as any club looks like they might threaten they just go and hoover up all of their talent
