  1. Another day off on Thursday

So this week they've had Sunday, Monday and Thursday off in a lead up to a crucial game, and with a bunch of adjustments needed due to ASM and Almiron being out injured

What kind of club is this man, honestly.

No wonder we get so many soft tissue injuries under this clown. Loads of days off and then into high intesity games.

The messed up thing about it as well, is that you know he's only giving them days off because he can't be bothered and just doesn't want to go in himself.

It's in no way in the interest of the players whatsoever. The guy is a complete and utter charlatan.

  3. Bruce actually said to Ritchie 'After all I've done for you'. This guy is really giving out contracts as a manipulation tactic, and a way to curry favour from players

Can you imagine how badly the club is being run for that to be going on? What a joke man.

Everything Bruce has been doing from the outset has been to cover his arse so he can continue to benefit himself, stealing money from the club. Leaking whatever benefits him and deflecting blame onto others.

He's happy to do this to the extent that it actually relegates the club. This is the manager the club went out of their way to pay compensation for. It's incredible really.

Can they not just get Graham Carr back and give him Charnley's job or something. At least he was a football person. No one at the club knows what the hell they're doing.

My God this club is such an embarrassment.

  4. That's great work by Michael Ricketts. There's so much talent outside of the England setup that could feature for Jamaica.

Jamaica is about to make a big jump pulling those players together. Could be really exciting for the country and for those players.

Will be awesome for the players if they have some success and qualify for the World Cup again. They'd get a lot of love.

  5. The perfect manager under MA would have been Harry Redknapp, as he would have had the perfect balance of getting along with MA while also producing the kind of football and results the fans would have been fine with.

Unfortunately he didn't want to move up north. Can't think of any other manager that works.

Wheeler-dealer Harry Redknapp, known for being hands on and extremely active in the transfer market? Somehow I don't think so.

I think MA would have let him get on with it because he's MA's type of guy 100%.

Similar to the way this summer Bruce was allowed to bring in the types of players he wanted.

Harry also loved a deal, which they would have in common. And Harry knew the French market well too.

It would have worked well. No doubt about it.

  6. The perfect manager under MA would have been Harry Redknapp, as he would have had the perfect balance of getting along with MA while also producing the kind of football and results the fans would have been fine with.

  7. We're not getting any transfer fee for him this summer. No chance.

Have to loan him out somewhere we hope he can do well, while paying a good chunk of his wages, and look to get a fee based off of how he performs at the club he is loaned out to.

Basically have to follow what Crystal Palace did with Sorloth.

  8. A distraction does not equate to looking like a completely different player to what he was previously, and not coming anywhere close to it even up till now.

I think it's very evident he's not sure of what he's doing out there anymore, and has been featuring in a team under Bruce that is dysfunctional in every area of the pitch.

  9. Where do you think we would be now?

... if Rafa had been allowed to spend 10 million on the academy and another 60/70 mill as Bruce has had on players...

I reckon the football would be ordered/organised but we probably wouldn´t have seen Maximillion here. We would be proud of the team and club and would be watching with intent and passion.

Not quite the experience at the moment

    Where West Ham are.

100% what I was going to say.

Keeping Rondon, Perez and Almiron and then giving him the £90 million that Bruce got?!

The defence was already sorted. The Longstaff and Hayden pairing was getting better and better every game in midfield.

He would have just fleshed out the squad and made the team better in certain areas, and improved the subs options.

We would have been top 6 minimum, while threatening a whole lot more, considering how vulnerable the typical top 4 bunch have looked.

  10. Nah, it is all down to Bruce. The evidence being that every single midfielder at the club has looked infinitely worse since he came in.

I don't know where this idea Sean got ahead of himself is coming from. It doesn't make any sense. What just because he got linked with Man Utd. he decided to down tools and not bother anymore? No.

It's the manager who has tanked the value of every single player at the club that I would be looking at.

It's unbelievable how much good coaching and instruction is underestimated, particularly for young players coming through. We've seen the greatest evidence of it shifting from the highly detailed and drilled methods of Rafa to Mr. 'Let's Play' Bruce. It's disgusting.

  11. Dubravka

Krath— Lascelles — Fernandez — Dummett

    Murphy — Hayden — Willock — Fraser

    Joe

    Gayle

No chance he’s dropping cue ball from his midfield though.

Missing four best players (even though Bruce doesn’t rate Schar) granted, any side is going to feel effects of that, but drop off in quality shouldn’t be this vast. Players you need to step up, should at least already be coming off benches and affecting games.

Joe, Gayle, Murphy, Krath have shown nothing to prove their PL players. Wouldn’t be starting in any other side in the division, and doubtful even on bench for nearly all.

Players that have shown to be good enough, you can’t expect 10/10 performances from to keep us up. Not their bag at all. When things are going well, and your stars are performing Their solid 7/10 most weeks, bread and butter players that every side needs - Lascelles, Fernandez/Clark, Hayden.

Only player of real quality we have left fit is Dubravka, and by f*** are we going to need him. Bruce’s tactics at the best of times is to hope he gets in the way of everything, and throw him under the bus when he doesn’t.

    Really like that lineup.

Could see that actually getting some results, mostly due to the legs in midfield and having Dummet in the back four, as we will need to be stronger defensively with our best attackers out.

It also takes the goal scoring burden off Joelinton, and instead puts pace and running around him, as the one thing he will do well most often is play people in.

The only problem is Bruce will never setup this way. Really like the thinking though

  12. He's not going to step up man

It will be quite the opposite. A complete disaster and he'll look worse than ever, because now the players around him are going to be significantly worse.

Guy had not shown anywhere near enough to be brought in for a club record fee, or to be given the number 9 shirt. And certainly not enough to be thrown in the way he was from the outset as the only striker in an incredibly negative setup.

He's done man and in my opinion he never even stood a chance of being an even moderately decent and consistent player and performer. It's unfortunate the fans are taking out so much anger on him. Guy likely had no idea what he was getting thrown into

As always the club is at fault for doing a terrible job of identifying a player to replace the number 9 we lost, for paying way over the odds for him and for bringing in a manager impossibly inept and incapable of putting the player in position to succeed, incapable of improving him and incapable of playing a system that even made sense for the whole team never mind the new inexperienced striker.

  13. I feel sorry for this guy man

With Wilson, ASM and Miggy out, the vitriol and blame that is going to be levelled at this guy when we start losing games and heading into the relegation zone is going to be horrific.

Could finish the guy off mentally and destroy any sort of career he could hope to have after his spell here.

  14. This is a killer both going forward and pressing/defending. West Brom will now beat us quite easily I think.

No Wilson, Almiron or ASM for at least a month. My God!

  15. Don't even think he look particularly that great in the German league either.

Literally could have signed Rondon, ASM and an "expensive" CM and we'd have been looking far different.

Which is what Rafa would have done, so fucking frustrating.

Then consider the fact that the Chinese club signed Rondon for just £16 million. Less than half of Joelinton's fee.

It's hard to truly appreciate how good a team Rafa could have built here if he was just allowed to get on with it.

Rondon would have been such excellent value as well because he never gets injured and his style of play ages very well. He could have stayed useful up until 35 years old easily.

Remember at the time Ashley and his 'experts' didn't want to sign him because they felt his performance was due to him trying to get a contract and he wouldn't keep it up ... never mind him never doing better previously was due to him being stuck under that oaf Pulis.

So of course they let Rondon go along with Rafa and then spend more than twice the money on a younger less experienced striker in Joelinton, who they then paired with a manager even worse than the Pulis that failed to get the best of the Rondon we just get rid off.

This club man. Sit back, relax and let it burn. It's all so pointless.

  16. Watched these a decent amount since Sam came in, and they are really poor defensively. Get opened up time and time again.

However they can cause issues themselves going forward. And they are well capable of exploiting a team that is rubbish defensively.

If we had everyone fit I would have said we'd beat them easily in the new system, but it looks like we will be missing our 3 best players?

Could go either way, and my gut says that fat head gets one over us and is unbearable in his interview after. It's so obviously going to go that way.

Should also be an intriguing watch for Arsenal fans to see Willock and Maitland-Niles go up against each other in midfield.

  17. That wasn't a sitter like.

    Yeap.

Willock and Joelinton chances were easier.

Ah no bother then maybe I am being dumb thinking a 25 million pound player should be able to finish a one on one chance with loads of time to set them self.

    Joelinton is also shit.

Salah missed a one on one against us. A much easier one. He cost £35m. Probably worth, what, £75m now? Is he shit too?

    It's so frustrating man

The real issue is the team being so shit that every missed chance seems like the end of the world, because they are so rare.

I see the top teams players miss guilt edged chances all the time, but it's soon forgotten about when they score soon after from the multitude of chances their teams create.

We're so incompetent and pathetic that every missed chance stays etched in our minds for months on end because it is so traumatic.

So sick of it all man. Club is so damned wretched.

  18. At this stage in the season, looking like no takeover, Ashley having zero interest, I’m not sure i want someone else coming in and carrying the can for what Bruce has done all season.

He should stay here and own it (if we are relegated), if he leaves and we still go down those fucking pundits will drive this narrative of “you never know, he might have turned it around”

I don’t want them having anywhere to hide.

My hatred of Steve Bruce is heavily outweighing my love for this version of the club right now

Honestly, I'm so repulsed by everything I'm now firmly in crash and burn territory.

Want to see the whole thing go down in flames until MA is forced to sell for peanuts.
