That is incredible!

It'll be interesting to see how this develops for sure.
We may even at some point see Fraser where you have Hendrick and then Joelinton in the hole with ASM and Wilson upfront.
Shelvey and Hendrick got forward a fair bit today and were okay, replacing them with Almiron and Fraser in those spots would be even more effective. Both attacking wise and even defensively as they are both more mobile and we are pressing from the front now.
Sneaking Big Joe on the pitch, you rascal.
Think he has played some fantastic through balls in his time here. Might do well in there with a bunch of players getting forward around him and under a manager with a clue.
Cool with any of the setups proposed though, think any would work well. Just wish Bruce was out of the picture completely!

Fair point. Just thought with how much of the ball Almiron saw today, that's probably where we'd want ASM to be long-term so he can impact games and draw in opponents.
Fraser was decent when he got the ball, but he seemed the least involved from open play. (Just checked the stats and he only had 29 touches, including set pieces, though I appreciate he went off after 67 minutes. Quick mafs says that would've been 39 if he'd played the full game. Maxi only managed 6 touches in 28 minutes in that role thereafter.)

Love it ... switch ASM and Fraser and we're good to go.
Got to have ASM as the one drifting into wide areas and terrorizing defenders with his dribbling.
-
Really glad he got that extension last year. Only just 26 years old too. Really like him and no matter the nonsense going on around the club he just keeps getting better.
-
Secondly, Graeme Jones keeps the use of the striker who tends to drift wide more often,
Wilson today?
Yeah and Fraser too. Both were upfront with the freedom to drift into the channels. Like his Luton tactic below.

Be interesting to see if the new manager can get a tune out of Joelinton. He might actually find a role and position that suits him. He’s the forgotten £40m man at the moment
The role Miggy was in today might suit him.
Could see him as one of the strikers pulling into the wide areas he tends to prefer.
Think Miggy's movement and ability to thread a ball will make that central role his. He was awesome there today.

Compare and contrast in that gif and our previous gamesWe have t played that formation before have we?
No we haven't. Not since Keegan's version with Owen playing behind Viduka and Martins
It's blatantly something Jones has identified as suiting the players we have, and why he was giving so much instruction, while the Steves were all looking dumbfounded
Graeme, identifying something not going right - steps up to touchline and gestures, shouting instructions with meaning behind them
Bruce, identifying something not going right - sulks with hands in pocket, begins mentally prepping for sheepishly acknowledging in post-match interview that our sleeves weren't rolled up enough.
It's ridiculous
Fuming at the thought of Bruce getting any kind of credit for any of this
-
Imagine Bruce digesting this
“ let’s just play “
No chance
Wilsons role pulling out wide also reminded me of a similar thing Martinez did with Lukaku at Everton. Jones would have been there at the time too.
All making a lot of sense now.

Oh boy ... it's all coming out now
-
So it turns out he almost exclusively played a 4-3-1-2 formation at Luton. Checkout the tactic column on the far right below for his time at Luton.
The exact formation we played today. which Bruce had not used at all at Newcastle. Bruce looks to have been demoted
-
Someone said its the exact formation he played at Luton, I'll wanna check that out
Scroll down and look at the tactic column on the far right for all of his games at Luton. He did indeed use the 4-3-1-2 almost exclusively.
Exactly how we lined up today!
This is embarrassing man. Bruce exposed!

Pep is the worst for fantasy football man. Everytime it's something
-
2-1 to WBA?
Yeah.
-
Whether true or not this narrative will drive Bruce spare like.
Yup
-
This is a shocker Fulham. Terrible.
-
Does he play much for Celtic this season?
Hard to believe they would loan out one of their first team players, and if he’s not a first team we you have to wonder why we are after Celtic squad players.
Their season is pretty much done as they won't be catching Rangers isn't it? And no he isn't a squad player. Does it say a loan?
-
Is he a CM?
Yeah.
-
Ooooh ... really liked Ntcham when he first started playing at Celtic. Haven't seen much of him recently though. Strong, athletic and skilled technically from what I recall.

Absolute wanker.
I'll be going absolutely fucking nowhere near a love-in for this no-mark who should be nowhere near the club. As complicit as the rest of them. Just happens to be competent.
I'm biased because I knew his dad but this talk is absolutely tripe. He's not your typical British managers lunch club coach. "Should be nowhere near the club" - he has the best CV for a coach that we've had for many years. I hope he gets the main job soon.
My view is based on the theory being correct about him being the acting manager/manager in waiting; and on that basis, his only managerial experience has come briefly at the foot of the Championship. So he isn't in the position on any sort of merit. Just another typical Ashley appointment; cheap, grateful and entering the job with eyes wide open. Just cos he's not a liar or totally incompetent (both of which remains to be seen of course) doesn't mean I'm gonna offer him any leeway.
Any manager at Mike Ashley's NUFC, who's career is being progressed at the expense of the continued Ashleyfication of the club, won't get any applause from me. Which I'm sure he'll be devastated about of course.
I mean the guy has been an assistant for eons, alongside a really good manager, and at club level as well as international level with a top international team.
In Ashley's model where he has always wanted more of a head coach that can work with players the recruitment team brings in, it's the kind of hire he should have looked for previously.
-
Parker seems far more astute than Lampard as a manager, which is a fair comparison to make I think.
Think they're both decent. Frank was just in a far more high pressure gig.
-
Funniest thing about that clip is Steve Agnew doing some vague pointing to try to imitate what Jones is doing
Commented on that in the match thread
So embarrassing. Bruce then tries to follow suit too
-
Have to score there Decordova-Reid. Should be 2. Fulham looking tasty.
