  1. I’d rather have Rafa back so I hope the Jones stuff is wrong, TBH.

Jones to take the reigns for a month until takeover goes through. Assurances of being kept on in Rafa's backroom, instructions to ignore the cabbage.

Yeah, would be easy to keep him on I imagine. It's still a step up from being an assistant at Bournemouth, so good for him too.

  2. Would love it if yesterday's meltdown was because he has been told Benitez is coming back if takeover goes through.

It was weird how he started ranting about Rafa yesterday, and know Rafa is on his way back from China and talking of getting right back into management. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

  3. I’m not ITK - its FOF stuff - but apparently Carr is still trusted by Ashley for football advice.

Good news IMO. Carr was really good and despite MA's transfer restrictions managed to get some real talent through the doors. Hope the idea is to fling Bruce from the premises as soon as Jones is sorted.

  4. Graeme Jones, fwiw, is from another football planet. I've spoken to him. He's close with Graham Potter, they both studied Martinez after retiring and Jones then recommended Potter to Östersunds FK, the club where he made is name in Sweden, when he (Potter) was still a teacher at Leeds Met.

    This is interesting

I read this about/from him, decent read. Seems to be some sort of thought process going on at least:

    Very interesting stuff.

When Rafa left I would have respected MA and his lot far more if they had got someone like Jones in, as it at least would have showed a bit more thought behind things and trying for someone with more current ideas, even though it would have been a risk. Just having worked with Martinez and been in that Belgium setup gives him far more credibility than Bruce.

Bruce was as much a risk as anything they could have done anyway and we all knew it was never going to work out. Such a ridiculously dumb decision that was bound to flop, and on top of that we have to listen to him talk rubbish every damned week.

  5. Ah ... the victim card, of course.

Everyone's being mean to poor old Steve who is finding it ever so hard to do the job he is being paid very handsomely for.

I mean, is this guy serious?!

  6. I've always maintained that a lot of these PFMs would get on much better if they just hired at least one top coach who was a bit more of a modern thinker as far as football and tactics, and then the PFMs could just carry on with their MR. Motivator schtick, but they're too full of it to do so.

If this whole thing is true it will be very interesting to see what the position is and who the person coming in is too. Embarrassing that they have to coddle Bruce this way and bring in someone to make him look better, when they should really just sack him, but this is cheaper isn't it ... and so there you go.

  7. It does sound like he's considering a change though.

I do think Villa and Leeds will do the trick, because I'm anticipating not just losses, but extraordinarily bad ones.

  8. Scott Parker has the air of an apprentice on the English Manager Merry-Go-Round trainee scheme.

Express your intelligence by saying "the football club" instead of "the club", look serious a bit, have a fleeting period of relative success, be mates with the commentators and the wider football community and bob's yer uncle.

A career of £3m a year jobs for delivering fuck all, and the endless support of lots of other people who earn £3m a year for doing fuck all.

    See also: Phil Neville.

Nah, his teams legitimately look organised and effective.

He has also already managed to get his team promoted from the championship at just the start of his career.

    Think he looks really promising.
