The guy has been brilliant of late. Controlling the game consistently now.

The change in the formation has benefited him massively. Has lots of players ahead of him to pop the ball about to now, without having to resort to the 50 yard balls as often.

Defensively he just kind of holds position in midfield now without getting caught out of position which is suffice really, as Hayden beside him and Almiron just infront of him do a ton of work closing down and harrying.

The new contract is looking a really good move now. Really enjoying his performances and I haven't always been sure of him.

Agree. He's looked good. Think his fitness is back up to where it should be, and again he's now in a formation that gives him more options ahead of him.

He is. He offers absolutely nothing if he isn’t scoring and he doesn’t score anywhere near enough to be a passenger and carried through games.

I don't understand why we suddenly started playing him upfront again. We know who he is by now.

We're now safe and so we might as well persist with Joelinton upfront in this formation, as our play has improved so much going forward, and lets try and improve on his play upfront as he's a new asset that we've blown £40 million on for goodness sake.

Don't think it is clever playing him in wide positions in this system. He has had some okay link up play, but it's all a bit pointless as he doesn't take people on with the ball.
