I’m really excited to have Father’s Day breakfast with my son and we get to watch Newcastle on tv before we have a nice day together. Nice bit of sunshine in an otherwise cloudy world at the moment.
Sounds great man. You guys have a good one. Loved watching games with my pops growing up, he'll love it.

Really need for him to get shown up in the last set of games, and for us to barely then scrape staying up.
Don't want any faint idea of the guy being given any kind of time in the job going into next season, should the takeover ever go through.

How long are Arsenal going to be this bumbling mess for man?
A while.
Yeah, got some terrible contracts and apparently still not got much as far as transfer funds.
will be worse with all this, every game without a crowd at the emirates is a huge loss of money for them, they have the second highest match day revenue and don't have the insane commercial stuff man utd (1st in mdr) have to fall back on
Man ... that is rough.
They should just go with more of a youth movement like Chelsea did this season, and get in some frees like Ryan Fraser and Lallana.

It's a great goal by Pepe but my goodness he's been poor. He tries to cut in every single time. Always looking for that angle and shot. Defender should be sending him down the right always.
-
It's the kind of unnecessary and petty thing you see these players do all the time. I wish they'd respect their fellow pros more, because it sucks when it leads to a bad injury like it just has.

Saka is class
He can do better than Arsenal in their current state
Such a ridiculous comment.
He's an 18 year old kid that they've just given a chance in the team this season, and he's too good for them already huh?!
Really irritating these type of comments.
I agree. Problem is it doesn’t take long for the player (and agent) to start believing them too.
It's so unfortunate man. The guy should be thrilled to have broken into the Arsenal team so early on in his career. He's just getting started and hasn't achieved anything yet.
That comment about doing better than Arsenal is the kind of thing that should be said about the likes of Aubameyang. It's so silly.

I really more concerned about the season restarting tbh.
Really think if this is still up in the air by then, Bruce will have us moving towards the relegation zone, which will not help things whatsoever.
Technically it would as i think it was agreed its easier to buy a club in the EFL than it is in the EPL
I get the point you are making though
I hear you
I mean, I was of course presuming they can still pull out at anytime right? Even though everything has been agreed subject to this test being passed?
If the season restarts and Bruce starts tanking the team and we head into the bottom three while this takeover is still being processed, if they have any leeway to cancel I could definitely see that happening. It would be so typical man. Urgh.

Willian seems like the kind of wide player who would comfortably be able to move inside and play centrel in the last few years of his career, he's still got a couple of seasons at Champions League level I reckon. City took Vieira (with an eye to coaching) when he was on his last legs, there's a lot to say for adding professionalism, leadership and experience when trying to build a squad.
Fair point. I think Oxlade-Chamberlain is a comparable player, and he is very comfortable infield or out wide.
If we were looking at paying a transfer fee I'd prefer OX instead, but he does get injured a lot so probably not a wise move.

With a £10M signing on fee and £200k a week..
It would certainly still come at a cost, but I thin it would still be somewhat justifiable for a two year contract.
I was thinking we'd be paying a fee for the guy, which would have been nuts to me.
Vehemently opposing a Willian free transfer did seem an awfully strange hill to die on.
I was thinking we'd have to pay at the very least £35 million for the guy at 31, and then the salary on top of that. I was so confused as to why people wanted that

But we won’t be buying him- he’s on a free transfer.
Ah, missed that part. My mistake.
That would absolutely be fine then.
-
Aye but he is 31 YEARS OF AGE! the massive ancient bastard
If we're going to buy someone that is that age, please let it be someone better than Willian for goodness sake.
-
We get taken over and have so many possible options and you want to go and buy a 31 year old Willian?
Why on earth would we do that for goodness sake?
-
We absolutely should not be signing a 31 year old Willian. No thanks.
-
I know numerous Chelsea fans here in London that appreciate him but will tell you that Pedro is far more of a threat on the pitch and much more productive. Willian is often in the team more for his hard work for the team, mostly defensively.
Nice afro though, but not very productive at all. You can even see it from his stats, despite the number of games he plays.
No idea why TRon is talking about step overs either. Has nought to do with anything.

Never understood the Wilian hype. He's okay, I guess, but meh. I'd be more intrigued by Shaqiri.
Willian is underrated imo. Always thought Barcelona would have been better off with him than Coutinho.
To say he's just a hard working wide midfielder is way off the mark imo, very technical player with great feet, good awareness, decent pace still and he's one of the best free kick takers in the league.
Most times I watch him, I see him being really dynamic and putting his head down and running with the ball, but then ... I really just don't see much more than that afterwards a lot of the time. Can be exciting to watch, but he's not that productive for me personally.

I think Willian is absolute quality tbh, miles ahead of Shaqiri. He just seems to be a very intelligent footballer, I get the feeling he must be great to play alongside for teammates. Not that I think he'd leave Chelsea to come here. If he does leave, then he probably has his sights set on the continent.
Completely disagree on Wilian. Not a fan. Hardworking wide atacking midfielder, but not particularly subtle, clever or clinical, and therefore not particularly productive despite playing in some very good Chelsea sides. Has the odd really good highlight, but too few and far between for me.

We're just going to get the ball passed around us all game. At least we're consistent.
These guys played just a few days ago and they look so much better. Can't even capitalise on their potential fatigue.
