  1. Bruce bit while discussing Joelinton

"We were hoping that he could go and get 10-12 goals this season. It’s very difficult for anyone in the Premier League to hit the 20 mark - unless you’re a [Craig] Bellamy or an [sergio] Aguero. I think it’s been a big learning curve for him.

Bellamy?! Never got 20 goals at all!

The heck is wrong with this guy man. Imagine mentioning Bellamy and Aguero in the same sentence. Of all the strikers?! Not Henry, Van Nistelrooy, Shearer ... nah, Bellamy!

  2. Bruce making these comments on Joelinton is not smart on any level.

All the more disgusting, because he is massively culpable for Joelinton being this ineffective.

I really hope this pisses MA off, as he is tanking the value of a player that was just bought for £40 million.

  3. This is so painful man.

Just read that little bit there for goodness sake!

That is why he was getting the best out of the likes of Longstaff and developing him into a top player, and now he has fallen to pieces.

It's also why someone like Almiron wasn't playing so haphazardly and pelting forward like a maniac headless chicken all the time.

He was constantly emphasising the final details and really getting guys to think about the game and the decisions they were making out there on the pitch.

    It's just so unfair.

  4. I don't understand why the setup is still so poor for identifying and bringing through young players. Pretty shocking stuff.

It's the first thing you want to get right at a club, and in the grand scheme of things doesn't need that much of an outlay and could potentially save and make you loads of money down the road.

  5. There was a bit in the first half where Haaland clears a corner at near post, then Sancho breaks at pace. 5 seconds later Haaland is pegging it past him, lad is rapid. That second goal as well, utterly ridiculous.

    EDIT

Man! The guy was motoring. Those long strides were eating up the grass.

  6. I mean ... this has been going on for ages, we've seen people walk off the pitch before, no? We all know the only thing that can stop crowds that big from carrying on is ending games immediately and awarding points to the other team, every single time this happens.

We all know we are never going to see that happen. Lets be real about it.

So what can we really do about this. I'd like to see my guys be totally unaffected by this bullshit because it is meaningless and those guys chanting that rubbish are no better than them and they never will be. It's all meaningless shit.

However, I understand that it's difficult for most of them to appreciate or share the stance I have on this nonsense. Fair enough. We'll just carry on with it every few weeks or months or whatever it is.

  7. Absolutely no idea why his teammates didn’t refuse to play. To physically stop him from going off is ridiculous and also part of the problem. If his own mates won’t back him up what fucking chance have we got of stamping this shit out?

Why should the onus be on the players?

Let the officials stop the game to end all this confusion.

People should get a petition going to make it happen if they're really fed up with all this. Lets see how many sign it.

  8. I disagree completely. So we'll just have to agree to disagree.

This stuff is just going to continue on as it always has. If people are really that horrified then let them start ending the games right away. Otherwise let's just stop with the pretence.

  9. But what will they do then? They can't do anything. They are abusing him for nothing he has done wrong, so i'd definitely be giving it back and getting on playing. Fuck them.

Unless they are prepared to end games and award the other team 3 points straight away we're all just wasting our time. This has been going on for how long now? It won't end, so we'll just continue this merry dance back and forth and continue to pretend we're all so horrified. It's ridiculous.

  10. I think the unfortunate thing about all this is he is reacting exactly how they want and need him to, and so this nonsense will never end. They feed off of seeing these guys so upset.

One day I would love to see one of these guys face that crowd, laugh at them and do the Ayoze celebration to wind them up.

What could they possibly do then? Absolutely nothing.

  11. True colours coming out now. Shifting all the blame to his players by leaking info to people behind the scenes like a snake

But Redknapp has shared that Bruce thinks that Newcastle simply don’t have the playmakers required in advanced areas to retain possession in the final third.

“I was talking to Bruce after the Chelsea game and he said we haven’t got the players to get up the pitch and keep it, we have to defend well and we have to hope that those three players [saint-Maximin, Almiron and Joelinton] can do something special and he [saint-Maximin] is certainly capable,” Redknapp said.

The players just can't do it guys. Nothing to do with my pitiful coaching.

No one can ever convince me that these players simply cannot do better with the ball than 33% possession every game. Even struggling to keep the ball and control the game against Oxford?!

Tin hat on, but there's truth in what Bruce is saying. Almiron and ASM are good at running with the ball, not good at hanging on to it or releasing it accurately or at the right time. We rely a lot on those two being able to get past opponents, and open up defences that way.

Joelinton is different. We use him as a pivot to the attack, in the same way as Rondon or Mitrovic. At holding the ball up, he's better than Mitrovic, but not as good as Rondon. So yes, altogether, the front three are not good at linking with the rest of the team and that affects the way we play.

And I imagine that Bruce will think twice before confiding in Redknapp again.

All well and good, but that's no excuse for the abysmal team structure and lack of coaching input. Read that 365 piece posted by Disco and tell me which bit you disagree with.

Well for a start, this guff about all the international players that we've got is crap. Plenty of international players don't make it in the Premiership. Look no further than Mitrovic.

Saying that Benitez 'revolutionised' our football half way through last season is crap too. With Almiron and the emergence of Longstaff, we played a bit better but I wouldn't say any more than that.

Can you please explain why the likes of Villa, Brighton, Sheffield United, Norwich, Southampton, Burnley and even Crystal Palace look far more convincing with the ball than we do, and which exceptional players that they have allow for this. Thanks.

I can't accept this because there are numerous other teams in the league that don't have perfect players and they manage to keep possession more than 33% every single game. We have the worst possession in all of Europe for goodness sake.

We're not talking about playing like Man City here. We cannot even convincingly control the game against League 1 Oxford. Bruce is having an absolute laugh. He's an utter joke.
