Apparently Haller has been pretty awful for them.
He's a fantastically technical link man upfront, that plays others in fantastically well, and they had no runners around him.
On top of that they never got any decent service into him as they have no wingers. And he scores a lot from that type of service.
Oddly enough even when Antonio was available, the one guy with pace and who can also get by a player and whip a ball in, they barely played them together.
Don't think they've put him in a strong position at all. And yet I think he is still their top scorer with 6 goals if I'm not mistaken.

Declan Rice is far from perfect, but I like him. Always notice him on the pitch and he makes some big plays every now and then.
Could see him having the kind of career trajectory Henderson had. Didn't think much of Henderson early on at all, but he worked his socks off and just kept getting better.

I'm constantly amazed by the clarity and ideas from posters on here on the team, and things we could at least try to do differently.
Meanwhile the manager just throws out the same team every single game with no improvement and no changes. It's extraordinary stuff.

Considering the reputation he had he must be miserable man, and West Ham look like they might even get relegated.
There'll be a good deal for someone there if they do go down. Someone like Man Utd should be right in there, but they probably will all write him off.

The 3-5-2 could make sense if you have Lejeune and Schar playing next to Lascelles playing the ball out the back and hitting the wingbacks deep. Perhaps instead of a central 3 you have 2 holding players sitting in front of the back 3, and 1 gets forward and 1 purely sits. You can then have Miggy playing as a legit #10 advanced role. The 2 strikers then are ASM and 1 of Gayle/Jo/Carroll. Mutu coming off the bench to change things up. The 2 holding players should be Hayden and 1 of Benteleb/Shelvey/Longstaff/Longstaff.

Timely reminder that the season is almost coming to an end and he has not tried anything innovative all season! I have seen a few articles that suggest the big change that is coming is again trying the 3-5-2 that made us look even worse earlier on this season
The 3-5-2 that makes it difficult to fit in ASM and Miggy who are our most likely source of any kind of success at this point. Fun times ahead.

He may not be the answer to our problems but the previous post is correct. He is the best passer of a ball we have. You do realise he is our top goal scorer don't you?Really looking forward to Shelvey coming back.
He'll play long balls back to the opposition and fail to cover people defensively leaving us even more vulnerable at the back.
It's really surprising people now imagine him to be an answer to our problems.
There is no player that is an answer to our problems under this manager.
Yeah, I do realise he is our top scorer, and I absolutely do not expect that to be a continued theme whatsoever.
Similar to the way all those defender goals have dried up, I expect the same to be the case with Shelvey. That was not typical at all what he was doing earlier this season.
We have regressed to the norm and it is all downhill from here folks. It's a wrap.
I'll put money on us getting a result shortly after Shelvey comes back from injury.
Okay. Don't bet too much of that money though.

See what's funny about Joelinton to me is that it's obvious we need to do and we kind of have the players to do it, but Bruce is a fucking dinosaur and has no idea.
Anyone see Watford today? Joelinton should be playing the role they played Doucoure in, deep 9 or 10 harrying the midfielders/cbs of the other team. ASM & Almiron should be playing high and a bit narrower like the Liverpool front 3 to be able to break effectively when we win it.
We need to press higher and more aggressively to get our attackers in better areas. It's so fucking obvious.
That, however, would require Bruce to stop picking the worst ball playing CBS and work out how to get the best from Longstaff again, which is impossible.
Doucoure has incredible work rate and doesn't stop running until the game is over, this guy looks knackered and unable to move once the ref blow the half time whistle.
That's not true at all - he was tracking back near the end of the game and making tackles in our own half. His workrate and energy aren't the problem, his complete lack of service and the fact he's not actually a striker are the problems, and the fact that our manager doesn't think improving the players through coaching and tactics is part of his remit.
It's much easier to write the player off it seems.
The guy has been working hard since he came in. I don't understand why people can't see this.

Absolutely. It's amazing how incompetent and clueless clubs are though, and how quickly they forget.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if no one shows interest and they end up going abroad or getting stuck here another year.

The only genuine class players we have on our books are the keeper and the centre backs. The rest could all be replaced by other players good enough for the championship.
Anyway, if Bruce is still here, we would be staying in the championship regardless of who we sign. The only way out with him in charge is another relegation to the third division.
Almiron is international class, just shit under Bruce.
It is literally impossible to really know how good any of our players are currently.
Every single player thread after each game is full of comments saying how shite all our players are.
Makes me laugh so much. No one is playing well and no one looks up to it. It's absolutely crazy.
