  1. He IS trying to have a successful career that's why he is trying to get away

He's already seen how Bruce has tanked his brother's prospects in less than a year

He certainly won't be accepting a cheap deal to stay in this dump.

  2. He's an Ashley signing. He wasn't signed for football reasons, so I can't really get my head around those that really want him to do well, and feel like they have to defend him against all criticism. It's defending Ashley's recruitment model in effect.

When I discuss the players I'm not ever thinking about MA or his stupid agendas.

There's no doubt we have some talented players that have been severely hampered by the ridiculous manager that was brought in.

From your point of view, we should just pretend they have no ability at all because MA bought them. Well, I think that's silly and a bit weird.

  3. I have no doubts that his goal return would have been better had we been playing in a setup like we used last night too.

Every time we lined up like we had been previously we were just putting him in the worst possible position. It's definitely slowed his progress.

You only have to even look at the drastic difference we've already seen in Almiron as well, as a comparison.

I don’t think he’s capable of scoring goals because he’s not a finisher, chances galore or not. Almiron was always going to score some goals at least because he can finish.

    Because only finishers score goals?

  5. Guy makes fantastic runs into space. Loved the run he made to score his first last night.

The ball from ASM was perfectly weighted to him too. Was a great connection.

  6. I can really see why he was compared to Firmino.

He drops deep to get involved and link play a lot. Looked a lot more effective with options around him too.

Laid it off nicely for ASM's effort off the post. Could have had 2 assists on the night.

  7. Watching the highlights the three attacking midfielders were really able to benefit from the space in behind when Joelinton dropped into space to link play.

Today's setup makes much more sense in that regard as Almiron, ASM and Lazzaro all were close enough to link up with him and then plug the gaps in forward areas also.

Lovely back heel to setup Almiron's second. Reminded me of a Firmino and Salah link up.

  8. What were you expecting him to do? Beat his man and whip in a cross?

The problem lies in the dugout and the boardroom. I'm sure Rafa would be able to get the best out of this guy but he's a proper manager.

Exactly, you only have to go back and look at when Rafa had Cisse out wide to good effect and then later on Kuyt who was a cult hero for Liverpool playing out wide.

But they had specific instructions that made their lives so clear and easy, so they could thrive. Same as Rafa had it for the likes of Longstaff, Perez , Hayden, LeJeune, Schar, Almiron and Rondon last season.

Joelinton is a young inexperienced player that has some interesting attributes that need cultivating. He is not a plug and play footballer. He is a complete bust under this manager 100%.

He will end up being loaned out somewhere, probably as soon as next season, and I hope he and his reps pick the right situation and manager to allow him to continue the fantastic progress he was making in Germany.

  9. Pearson is lightyears ahead of Bruce, actually knows what coaching is.

Someone we could have so easily gone for instead too.

Would have sucked to stay in the league not even trying to achieve anything but avoiding relegation. I hope we go down and that the value of the club crashes more and more until we get rid of Ashley.

I'm certainly all aboard this train now that's for sure.
