  1. Why is that funny as a 4th centre back?

Got prem experience and Rafa will know him from their time at Napoli?

I don't get why every move is laughed at on here?

to emerge as a headline worthy target highlights both the depths of our desperation and our crippling brokeness.

He's a 4th centre back to replace the departing Mbemba.

    Headline worthy?

  2. These clubs have lost it man ... I mean Everton currently still have the likes of Bolasie, Walcott, Calvert-Lewin, Lookman, Vlasic, Mirallas, Sandro, Niasse etc on the books.

And they go out and splurge £40+ million or Richarlison. That's incredible.

Man, if we would actually spend even A LITTLE money there is room to take advantage of how impatient and rash a lot of clubs are becoming with all this money.

At Everton as an example there is room there to grab one of Vlasic, Lookman or Calvert-Lewin you would imagine.

A club happy to shop in the £15 to £20 million range could get some really good talent that has been over looked way to quickly.

  3. Justifying?

I'm just saying this is what it has always been, so not sure why people are surprised.

I think Rafa knows what he is dealing with now, and is working within these parameters and seeing how successful he can be at it.

If come the end of the season it is a shambles then he'll move on. If he somehow finds away to be competitive despite these limits he will stay.

After all, we did just finish 10th with no striker and no number 10 all season and Kenedy  for just half a season, so it will be very interesting to see whst Rafa can do with a few more than he had last summer.

  4. So here's the thing guys. Mike Ashley has NEVER sanctioned the first choices our managers or scouts or DOFS have ever recommended.

It's why we ended up with Riviere instead of Aubameyang or Lacazette.

MAs approach is to always get a good deal, and so with the first choices we haggle and haggle until someone steps in and usurps us.

Our only chance is if we are targeting someone no one else is as keen on signing.

We all know this already guys. Let's not give up on life just yet though.

Kenedy was further down the list last summer and he turned out to be fantastic when we eventually got him in January. Merino was another that was likely not a priority, but he turned out to be a fantastic signing, albeit he hasn't ended up staying.

Joselu was at the other end of the spectrum, obviously. And so, yes, there will be some misses too.

I for one am still interested to see who Rsfa does bring in, and what kind of team we can put together.

  5. Rondon will be great and you'll all love him.

People whined, cried and soaked the bed when we brought in Kenedy.

Yet this summer they whined, cried and soaked the bed because we wouldn't pay £30 million for him.

Aren't you guys tired of this?

  6. Okay, so so far even if it's been loan deals and freebies, it does seem that Rafa is getting the players he wants.

One thing I still remember is Rafa talking about begin able to convince Mike he can spend the money how he wants. Whether the majority of it will be all on one player or otherwise. Whether he buys older players or otherwise.

Feels like Rafa might be looking to keep his money for one or two players. We shall see. It's going to be interesting.

  7. We'll spend thriftly.

We'll end up with a surprisingly good team of players that we all love.

They in return will all love being here because they will exceed expectations and start to emerge here.

Rafa will sign up and stay forever.

  8. Yeah. It's fine not to want him because of the circumstances last time, but to say he's shite is a different matter.

Wasn't he a fairly important player for Klopp? I suppose with Fabinho and Keita coming in, someone has to go and he's maybe decided it's Wijnaldum and Can. But a better team will sign him.

No he was not important man!

The midfield was Hendo, Milner and Ox.

He really only played when he first came in and then once he was sussed he only played when everyone else was injured.

This is killing me guys. He isn't good.

We played him at number 10 and he didn't produce. Tried him wide and he didn't produce, played him in central midfield and he didn't produce.

    He never did anything.

  9. He's improved a lot under Klopp. Think he'd improve us, played consistently for them last season.

    He hasn't improved man.

Milner jumped him in midfield as did Ox when he came in.

There's a reason Klopp has gone and bought two central midfielders as soon as the season's ended.

    This guy is not good.

  10. If he isn't scoring he isn't doing anything else. Nothing at all. Really dislike his game so much.

Was a tremendous achievement shipping him to Liverpool for the money we did. Bigger scam than the Sissoko deal perhaps.

  11. Amazing that people that don't want Townshend back want this clown to return.

How can people have forgotten how invisible he was for us? ! A complete nothing player.

Has done nothing at Liverpool despite all the talent around him and a manager that gives you all the freedom  in the world.

Sorry, this guy is terrible. Would have Jonas back ahead of him.

  12. Kane missed two good chances, but I think saying he had a shit game is unfair. We gave him fuck all, really. He was contesting headers on the edge of the circle, ffs.

    I agree with this actually.

Especially once Sterling went off. Nothing seems to open up the opposition when he isn't on.

But then when he is on, he does waste a lot of opportunities to deliver a final ball or finish.

Lingaard and Dele are culpable IMO. Not enough creativity from those two, which is incredibly disappointing.

Agree about Lingard and Alli, like. We were great first half even despite them. But then I'm not sure internationally they're actually capable, unfortunately. Rather than they performed poorly.

Was also disappointed we didn't try and change formation at any time during this tournament. We struggled with subs desperately because we didn't really have anyone to come on like for like. I think it was crying out for 433 second half.

It's so easy to take Sterling off because when he wastes opportunities it can be so glaring. Even I thought he ought to come off at the time.

However, once he goes off it becomes glaringly obvious how little Alli and Lingaard are contributing.

And then do you begin to realise there's no way they should have both played a full 90, while Sterling went off so early.
