  1. So happy guys. Such a clutch performance. At least we go to the last game with a chance.

So happy the manager changed the system and also started Kelechi and Musa.

So so so happy for Musa too. I've always liked him, because he is such a problem with that pace. And on hi's day he can go past players and finish convincingly.

Think Leicester have done him a great disservice in his time there. Not to even use him in their rotation at all is crazy to me.

    Ah man, so thrilled.

  2. Oh my goodness ... I can't wait for the match to just come and go.

Well, I guess if we are persisting with those two clowns, at least it will be while playing a different shape. Maybe that will somehow work, though I won't be holding my breath.

I am so desperate for some unpredictability and pace though. Just play Musa and Kelechi for goodness sake.

It's right there for the taking.

  3. Listen I love Chancel man

But I'll be damned if I ever take a photo like that. It's so cringe man.

Why are their tops off and why is he kneeling down in worship like that.

His girl must have convinced him to take that thing. No man sits at home and conjures up such an image in their head.

    It's so bad

  4. My mistake guys. Guess one of those 3 to loan then and perhaps purchase one of the remaining 2.

Chelsea messed us up this way last summer over Kennedy and we had to wait until January.

I really wish they'd just sort their managerial situation out.

  5. I have a feeling we are prioritising those loan players Rafa really likes at Chelsea, and so we are in a bit of limbo.

Trying for two of Abraham, Kennedy and Loftus-Cheek. Of course Chelsea are in a mess, which is terrible for us. The good thing is they do seem to have a good relationship with Rafa, and will be thrilled with how Kennedy was used last season. So when they do decide the will likely favour us as first option.

So I don't know ... do we just forget the Chelsea players and go on with separate plans? Can we afford to?

  6. Such a great win for England yesterday I thought. To come through the adversity of spurning all those chances in the first half and then getting that penalty against them was a very significant thing.

I reckon it's the kind of win that really inspires a ton of confidence. Massive that both goals came from your lead striker in Harry Kane.

Thought it was perfect. A really challenging game that you won. Not too easy and not suffering a dissapointing showing or result either.

  7. If Mitrovic did more work from a defensive point of view i.e. when we didn't have the ball, and along with that wasn't the liability he can be from a discipline point of view, then I have no doubt Rafa would use him, regardless of anything else.

Then we'd really begin to see him become something special. However Rafa never felt he was fit enough to do what was needed for the team defensively. It was of vital importance too, considering the lack of quality in the squad.

And so he just won't be the guy for Rafa, simple as that.

  8. So Nigeria is still Nigeria. Likeable, spirited, and crap.

What? This team is not spirited or likeable. They are just crap.

The team is chaotic and feisty, and unlike true turboshit teams like Saudi Arabia there's actual footballing talent on the pitch. That makes it likeable to me.

But the whole thing adds up to a big amount of nothing.

Yeah, perhaps. I'm just really disappointed, personally.

They're forcing some of the older statesmen in the team, but they shouldn't be playing.

Iheanacho and Musa have to be in there from the outset. Moses and Obi Mikel shouldn't be. Not in that 4-3-3 setup anyway.

Mikel is doing alright. At least he can control a ball to some degree. Moses should never see that pitch for the national team again after the nonsense he has now pulled in two consecutive World Cups.

Mikel was good, but he suffered with no support of him in the middle. Etebo and Ndidi tended to stay deep.

If we play that setup I'd perhaps have him in a midfield two with Iheanacho number 10 off Ighalo, and then Musa in for Moses.

  9. Nigeria's national team typifies Nigeria as a country. A failed state that is barely holding together at the seams and provides nothing but embarrassment and shame for its people on a daily basis. The primary objective of 99 percent of Nigerians is to get the hell out that God-forsaken country as fast as possible, and I cannot say that I am any different. We have brilliant academics, medics, etc. succeeding all throughout the world, but the country itself fails in all of these areas. No different than how we have hundreds of players making themselves rich from football in Europe and over the world but the country itself fails repeatedly. Countries like Iran have nothing in terms of player talent, but makes themselves competitive just through graft and organisation. It is not that difficult, ffs. I guess I am the fool for coming out here to watch them.

The performance was typical. Corners against Naija are like penalties against any other team and it has been this way for years. Every World Cup they concede multiple times from set pieces. Croatia didn't even have to bother creating any real chances for themselves for the Eagles to spread their legs. The attack was of course stilted, hesitant play in first gear despite being being one of the quicker teams in the tournament. I'll never understand it. Rubbish.

Sigh ... we can't even enjoy something we all love as a country. Ah, well.

At least any expectations can just be thrown aside going forward now. It's whatever.
