In all seriousness though ... the nerves have started kicking in man. Urgh, kind of wish we weren't playing so soon. Could have waited a few more days I think.

The reason he doesn't play outwide much is because he doesn't track back how he used to so it just majorly imbalances the team defensively if he plays out wide.

 

You can cover for it more when he's in the middle.

 

 

Not saying to change the formation, but just have him drift into those wide positions.

In their setup the wingback is covering that side anyway, along with the central midfielder on that side, who seemed to be staying deep.

Thought they could have done more to help him have an impact today. Felt bad for him, as it was so congested in the middle.

Also with him in the middle all the time I felt it encouraged the get the ball to Messi always approach.

It's an awesome result for Nigeria I have to say. If we can get a victory tonight we are in great shape.

You seen how heavily he gets marked though? Players literally follow Messi around wherever he goes. Can't really compare him with Hazard, it's a different picture.

I just wanted to see he him out wide at times also, where he would have had more opportunities to run at them and make something happen. Was way too central the whole match.

As undoubtedly brilliant as Greizmann is, they look much more balanced with Giroud. I'd be tempted to play Giroud with two of Greizmann, Mbappe, or Dembele either side.

Based on today's evidence Dembele and Tolisso should be dropped. Both quite awful.
