  1. Has to be said you just can't underestimate the cancer that lingers after Pardew. That guy is poison man. Leaves clubs in such a bad way.

Absolutely have to bring in someone that is a complete breath of fresh air after him. Instead they bring in this silly oaf. Disastrous stuff.

  2. It is such a disgustingly bad result so far man

The crazy thing is that Palace side is pretty decent! They've got some decent players man.

They were saying in the BT studio that it has all just been launched hoofs up to Benteke. Absolutely crazy with the players available to that hippo.

  3. This is the man that waited until we were almost certainly relegated before deciding to sack McLaren.  Given his track record of decision making, it's my view that he is the one who blocked incoming transfers in January.  Let's look at what could have led Charnley to that conclusion?  We were 9 points ahead of 3rd place.  Had three players coming back from the Afcon one of whom was a winger Atsu and another being a midfield player in Diame.  Charnley clearly arrogantly concluded that we didn't need Townsend or McCarthy as those positions were already covered by players we already had on our books not forgetting that we had Sammy covering for Atsu for a couple of weeks.  Its not an unreasonable conclusion, especially if the motivation was to save transfer funds to significantly strengthen the squad when/if we are promoted.  I do wonder whether we have agreed to buy those Serbian youngsters, on the advice of Carr, where we are rumoured to have offered £35m.  If so that may explain why the £30m profit from the summer wasn't available to rafa.

Okay, let's assume this is all the case. Then why can't they just be straight with Rafa man? Have a discussion about things. Convince hi of the direction they want to go in. I'm not so sure Rafa would be dead against it anyway.

It's clear Rafa has no idea where things are at, and is being left under the impression that they are trying to get him what he wants, when they are not.

    It's just idiotic.

  4. Rafa is a very kind man.

Kind enough to allay our fears the remainder of the way.

Kind enough to prepare us for, let's be honest, his likely exit in the summer.

It's all up to Mike Ashley man, and the likelihood is once promotion is confirmed he will want someone who he can control, and force to get his young, profit making players.

  5. Man ... if his guy McClaren beats us this weekend, you just know he'll be loving that, and will be all up in Mike Ashley's ear. Probably start pushing to get another one of his pals in.

I hope we destroy Derby for this reason especially, but unfortunately I don't think it will happen. Think we might get hammered. The vibe around the place stinks, and they have some tricky customers.

  6. Read these stories with a smile on my face, even if you lot didn't. That's the Rafa I know. All these journos were briefed by him, or someone close to him. He knows how to play this game, and he knows how to throw the pressure directly on the owner/or board. It got him sacked by Inter but he wanted that as he knew he wasn't going to get the backing he needed to succeed. But here he'll be hoping it wakes Ashley up and that when the summer comes he's willing to back him. This is the equivalent of going in hard on someone early in the game to let them know you're there. The risk being that you might get sent off.

Rafa has been criticised for bring too political an animal in the past. And there is some truth in that. It exhausted him with us, and in the final season he appeared to have lost some of the stomach for it, so when a weedy, needy little s*** like Christian Purslow turned up - who Rafa would have usually swatted away - he didn't have the energy to squash him. The result was Purslow manoeuvring Hodgson into place. f***ing Roy Hodgson. Rafa meanwhile had had enough. I couldn't blame him. Hicks and Gillette were running the club into the ground and he made us all see that. It drained him though

I expect Rafa to make soothing noises to day, to try and rouse the crowd for tomorrow, and then leave it until later in the season. Ball is firmly in Ashley's court if you go up. Back him or lose him.

Roy Hodgson ... now there's a name for you.

  7. Interesting that Carr was sitting next to Ashley at that recent game.

I can't help but wonder if Carr has been bitching about the lack of usage of Mitrovic, who was very much a Carr signing, and the type Ashley is obsessed with. Those Gini and Sissoko sales for big money would have really got Mike excited and increased Carr's influence again, unfortunately.

  8. Think if he left tomorrow attendances would drop to about 42-45k rather than full houses, but still not a significant enough drop to make a statement.

How would anyone justify still going man?! Can't get my head around it

  9. If Rafa goes will anyone actually still go to the games? Honestly, I cannot imagine what sort of person would still enter the stadium

Mike Ashley is an idiot. He's no doubt been hanging out in his dodgy London pubs listening to past it PFMs who are tellign him Rafa is doing a bad job, so they can all have a crack at the job.

    Excellent times ahead.

  10. Ashley is clearly sulking because we are in close competition with Brighton, and it's all a bit tight still.

His solution is to throw a strop and refuse anymore players.

    Standard.

  11. Tonight had to be a win to calm things down some. Of course we throw the result away in the most pathetic manner. This thing is going to unravel quickly. Completely lost hope in us going up automatically now, or Rafa staying .
